Hi A story. Many years ago,I picked up my first bike,an 84 V45 Sabre. Sue and myself grew up riding on that bike. All over south western Ontario. Then, with mortgage paid and business, good started looking for a new bike. I wanted a new St1100A but one of my best friends,Randy, said to forget about that and try out Honda's new bike, the Valkyrie. I did try out a BumbleBee and loved it. He was right. That Oct,Sue bought me one for my birthday.
I was thankful that Randy gave me his advice. Loved my new ride.We rode together a fair bit. He had and still has some great HDs and a Busa. His job then took him to British Columbia. I don't know if it was the distance ,time or a misunderstood word but we lost contact after a year.I thought my friendship was lost.I never called after awhile.Lucky for me ,he called last year and we talked, talked well.It is great to rekindle a friendship again. He came back to Ont last summer for a visit. In my driveway,he told of his test ride on a Valk I/S that the Honda rep loaned him. He loves to tell how this Valk spanked a friend's monied HD.Then I opened the garage door to show him my I/S that Sue bought me for Christmas that year.
This year he came for another visit. I asked him to go for a ride and take my I/S.He had borrowed a Sportster for the week but said that he could ride a Sportster anytime but not a Valk.We rode last night to the beach with afew friends. I followed Randy on my Tourer. The first curve on the cloverleaf to the highway,he left a four foot trail of sparks from his(my) pegs.I knew he was home.He looked real good on the Valk.
I am glad to have him as a friend.

Nice story, Adrian, it's always great to renew friendships with people that made a difference in your life, and to put a smile on their faces, and on yours. I hope your weekend will be good, looking forward to seeing you and Sue one of these days, probably next year... (she said, still smiling)

If you're lucky enough to ride a Valkyrie, you're lucky enough.

Good friends are hard to come by sometimes. To bad his visit didn't coincide with ours. Would have been nice to meet him. Maybe next time........
