I'm thinking this is the starter relay...it makes a pop when I hit the start button, just began today, and it's an electrical thing--would it be the button itself or the relay, which I understand is down near the battery?  Almost sounds like it's coming from the button but I may be wrong.  I'm at work right now so can't get her apart--starts up okay--but once home and have a chance want to know what to look for.  thanks.

The starter relay is under the RH side cover. Mine would pop for no reason sometimes, maybe 3 times while I had my bike. I don't feel it is a sign of anything, but I would inspect it.

Remove the cover, inspect the leads for corrosion or heat damage. Maybe even remove the leads and sand them to get fresh metal again. Remove and replace he fuse.

Maybe someone else will have more experience or suggestions on what to do.

Well I have a spare starter relay, so I'll probably just change it out. Funny because after the heat of the day past and the bike cooled down it doesn't do it now.
