Only had 2 weeks so had to choose between southwest or northwest. I don't think we could have made a bad choice on that one but we are well pleased with our choice to see CO and parts of AZ and UT. My friend Smokin'joe recently asked "what was the highlite ? " At the time I didn't have an answer. Now I know the highlite was the time spent with this man and his family. Folks if you haven't met Misfit, you are missing out on one of the finest folks you'll ever know. In fact all the Kinters are top shelf. Carolyn and I never had kids so being around kids aint always a pleasure. Let me tell you being around the Kinter clan is a joy. We would have been happy to bring all five of those kids home with us. And Mrs. Misfit (Kim) is top notch also. The lady is awesome to do all she does and remain a joy to be around. Thank you all so much for accepting us into your family. We're proud to be a part of it. That last nite at y'alls house sitting outside talkin while Chase played his guitar. Priceless!! We got into Colorado Springs late on a sunday afternoon and Damon took us on a very nice ride around his back yard. I thought this guy was a statue 'cause he was standing so still and also 'cause he was in a hi traffic residential area of the city. Then he started running away. I think this was in Colorado Springs also. Hard to remember 2 weeks worth of things seen along the way.

Misfit took us to the "Garden of the Gods". Man that's a purty place. They call this one "The Kissing Camels" And this is "Balanced Rock" I like the rocks poking up over the trees Misfit told us how many time "they" claim these rocks in the Garden have thrust up, been eroded away and thrust up again. I think it was four but not sure. Well that's it for now. I've spent the last week sorting and organizing the 1300+ pics we took. Now I get to upload some of the best of the best. It'll take awhile on this dial up. I liked the way Gilligan posted his western ride report a little at a time so I'm gonna do mine that way. I hope some of you enjoy the pics.

Thanks for sharing. Aside from CA to NV, I have never ridden the West, and hope to do it some day as well. If I can just live long enough to retire with my health it may happen.
I am thinking about my supervalk in a Sprinter (set up to camp), travelling to a central location, offloading and riding out in all directions, then moving to another location to repeat. Thirty to sixty days at a time. We'll see.

I think I had mentioned that we went in 2006 to Inzane in Co. I've got to say that it was probably the best trip we have been on to date. We stayed in Buena Vista, then Kremmling, then Breckenridge. We rode to the Rocky Mountains National park from Kremmling. Simply beautiful. I thought we might get back this year to that area, but looks like it may be next year now.

You just don't know how much I wanted to go Ron . If I had'nt used up so much of my time at work when my lung blew-out this year I'm pretty sure I'd been there with you my friend. Good Lord willing I'm headin' that way before I die.

We lived back east all our adult lives (TN, FL, NC and PA). Work took us to Arizona 3 years ago and we still feel like we went on vacation and never came back. It must have cost a fortune to landscape this place. -RP

I assure you the pleasure was all ours. I am glad you folks came. I know that you had been planning it for a few years. My wife and kids loved having you two around. In fact we had a bunch of GREAT VRCC folks stay with us this year and we are not done yet. I don't think that our wives would have ever run out of things to talk about and the stories of your family were a hoot. Sorry I didn't get the grill fired up but the schedule just didn't allow for it. I was glad Kim took on dinner while we were with Stan or you might have had peanut butter. I gotta ask, did the doughnuts make it KS? I see that Carolina Girl LET you sign up for the CBR. Tell her I said thanks. I want you to know that our home is always open to you. We were honored to have such fine folks in our home and we are proud to call you friends. By the way I may just surprise you one day and show up on your porch.

Thanks Michael. It was good to have met you and I am glad you enjoyed your stay. Maybe next time we will be working less and playing more. As far as the grilling goes it is kinda like riding motorcycles. I just can't seem to get enough of it.

Way to go ride the dream I've considered it since I have a bit a free time on my hands Sure as heck, I'd be called back home for something Rowdy, you can turn the phone off and tell them the battery died and none was available where you were or their was NO service........ If there is a will, there is a way........ Trust me. PS: I've also been hit in the head a few times by a iron skillet.
