Anybody try this? Did neck bearings once by putting the races in the freezer and it was still bear to install the races. Maybe using a little dry ice would benefit. Anybody got any view points on this.

Yes, with interference fit you need to expand one side, and shrink the other side. Normally heating one side to 250F is all you need to do. But dry ice shafts or bearings as well helps.

We used dry ice and oil in the freezer for the hinge pins of our H-53 too Smiley

Give the bearing races 10 minutes in the dry ice to allow the temperature to go through the steel. We were shrinking some 3 inch diameter bolts at work and they took a good half hour to shrink enough to fit in their  holes.
