Man, I've been riding for a spell...and this new Valkyrie is hands down the most incredible motorcycle I've ever ridden!  OUTSTANDING power, 'snap' handling, good suspension..and it sounds like an Indy car! Honda undoubtedly did their home work on this baby big time...

and to think I got it for nearly HALF the price of a similar displacement, air cooled Harley.. Cheesy 2funny

"I come from the land of the ice and snow, the midnight Sun, and the hot springs that flow..." The Valkryie!!! (LZ circa 1973)

I know what your saying.  The more I drive it, the more I love the power.  Once I change the handlebars and get a Corbin seat, it will be awesome.

Yes the power - 121 and that was two up!! But even though I am a Power speed nut it is the agility of this that is giving me the most JOY!  I have pure enjoyment at low speeds now as well!!   I too am totally hooked!!!

cooldude    here are the chrome parts I took off so far and replaced with black Thanks again to Mike -hubcap the pine wood wedge worked perfect in taking off the headlight thumbnail without any damage.  Great idea!!!

I am enjoying my 2014 Valkyrie as well. Each time I ride it I like it more, especially the handling.  The thing that made me realize how good the handling is the most was when I rode a friends bike.  I rode a Harley Road King for about ten miles, and I didn't really notice too much of a difference in handling when I got on the Road King.  But, when I got back on the Valkyrie after riding the Harley, ... wow, it felt sooooo much better.

:DThese may be the deal of the Century!!!! I wasn't even looking for another bike, and one popped up on craigslist as a dealer blowout. Sure glad I did. The only complaint is the ridiculous price for Honda saddlebags. I went with softbags

I will get to the pod.   The initial try to get the headlight thumb nail off I was using two flat head screw drivers after 15 Minutes  I stopped as to not hurt it and did not try the rest of the chrome trim as I was not in my right mind set any more. See I am getting older and sometimes wiser.  When I went back out with the wood wedge literally 60 seconds and it was off after that the pod and the rest was cake walk - easy button!!!  cooldude

I wonder if the new Valk will finally take off as we are all so naturally enamored with it that we must be infectious. It is easy to sell what you believe in even if we are not trying to. And now they are starting to make their way out there.   Maybe then we can get a king big boy seat!!

I bought mine when they were new and paid $16000.  Still no complaints.  I paid $17000 for a Victory and put another $3000 in the engine and it was still a turd.  Victory and Harley go in the same category.  Over priced and poorly designed.

Dude I could write a 100 page essay on this very subject!  I've been basically defending my decision to buy Honda street bikes as far back as 1983 when I bought my first street bike:  a 83' 750 Shadow. (VT 750C)  In it's day it was utterly state of the art with it's ultra modern V-Twin engine...It had great power too...and outran older inline 4 750s...

Harleys were still made by AMF 2funny  and THEY SUCKED!

No comparison...

Where I live in northern Illinois there is a TON of Harley bias...to the point of sickening...

Basically the current Harley mill is 1960s engine technology with some 21st century *add ons*..

Their still WAY to complex, poor drives systems that are HEAVY and inefficient.  And their air cooled...come on...what else is air cooled? (aside from Victory and some Yamie Harley wanna be's) Chain saws, weed whippers and lawn mowers?? 2funny  It only gets worst from there...

Everyone knows that when it comes to internal combustion WATER cooling is the only to go for all the obvious reasons...

Man I could go ON AND ON and on illustrating the engineering disparities...

NOW the V-Rod features a KILLER motor...state of the art...but it's on the wrong frame and all the Harley fan boys hate them??  What?  Put that motor on a Dyna-Glide or a Softail and now you have something..geezzz...

The thing that kills me the most is the ignorance...the average person has no clue...yet they tout them as the best bike on the road..

clueless....utterly...

Love the styling and the paint jobs...Harleys are beautiful bikes...but it stops there...

And if anyone ever gets in my face and tells me to buy American again..I'm just gonna blast in the face!

Like all the new comments about the new valkyrie, I knew I had to have one the first time I test rode it, loved my 1998 1500 but this 1832 motor and handeling is wicked, fullely trip loaded (packed up) and did the dragons tail, peg-to-peg, and I loved every turn. now I have my lockable trunk, which I made bracket mounts, for so I can put it right behind me to lean on for long trips, no more need for bungies to carry extra bag, now everything will go in bags or trunk, and even got bag inserts to make it easy to load or unload, or take just what I need into the motel for the nite.
Next trip is to J&P Cycle open house, in Iowa. Then next month to Door County, some other trip in Aug. and in Sept. dragon round up in eastern Indiana.   Lots of day rides in between.
                                                 good luck to all riders
