Soap and water has always worked for me on any of my vehicles, but don't let it stay on there for a long time.

If it's pine sap, you'll need some bug and tar remover, gotten at any Walmart or the nearest auto parts store. Most other sap will wash off with some moderate scrubbing with soap and water. Don't forget to wax it again afterward cooldude

For tuff sap like pine or the orange goo that comes from some tree seeds there is nothing that beats 90% rubbing alcohol from your local drug store.  Less than 1/3 the price of any bug and tar remover and 1/10th the work..... trust me.

Gasoline. Don't rub hard, let the chemical do the work.  Go behind with a little soap and water.

All the kinder-gentler solvents require more work/rubbing.

BBQ lighter fluid will wipe it right off off just about anything. Rewax afterward.

I got douched with tree sap in a hotel parking lot on the way to Inzane. Soap and water worked fine. That crap sure is sticky though.

I know it sound crazy, but peanut butter (creamy works best) to remove pine/fir/spruce sap.  I have used it for years when working in the forest.   It will also get it off your hands in short order
