My cb is not working real well and the  transmitter lever does not seem to be making all the time,I'm a little nervous to open that box and have thing go all over the place. Then when it is working people on the other end say my signal is very weak, any suggestions? I know when I drove a big rig I could have my cb tweaked and put out more power,I don't know if anybody would be willing to work on a motorcycle one.

Im talking about the box on the handle bars, just to be clear. I like the look of the chrome one I seen on hear, forget who did it but it sure looks great.

I understand Sierra Electronics may be the repair/tweak outfit you might need. http://www.sierra-mc.com/

I have had the bar mounted control box apart to clean a moisture stain off the back of the display glass (HondaLine Tourer Edition CB). I don't remember clearly, but the "talk lever" may do well with a squirt of electrical spray cleaner internally.

I would try that before sending in it or the main box unit for adjustment/repair.

Rod,
Nothing will fall out if you separate the two halves.  Open it up and spray some contact cleaner in there.  That will take care of any dirty switches.
