I made it to Inzane XV...
I waffled because I had cancer surgery February 13, and got laid off in a downsizing April 30. Cancelled my order... never got a verification on the cancellation.
SOOO... at the last minute I headed out for Inzane as Jayne said she didn't want to listen to me grousing about how I should have gone.
My rear tire was down to the wear bars when I left... What the heck, it was only a 1,000 miles there, right? I would just check it at every gas stop.
I went to my son's graduation Saturday, and headed out immediately after congratulating him. I stopped and camped at Jellystone Campground in Missoula, MT. Got up and headed out the next morning and decided I would stop at Billings, MT instead of going on into Spearfish. I was going slow to baby that tire. Stayed at the first KOA campground (#1) and it was nice, lots of shade.
I rode out and stopped off at Custer's last stand for a bit, then took Montana Hwy 212 towards Spearfish. That was a beautiful ride, but man, there is no one or anything out there! Looked at my tire at Broadus, MT and uh-oh! Threads were showing and still had 106 miles to go.
Well, lucked out. Made it. Went  to registration, told them to keep my money and give me the stuff I ordered, because "Hey, here I am... made it after all!"
Went directly to OMS Honda and had them put Metzler ME 880 Marathons on it (that's all they had in stock). Met up with a rider from Texas who had a memoriam to OldDog1946 on his plate. Crap... I didn't hear Rick had died in a motorcycle accident. That was depressing.
Anyway, I had a great time! Met a lot of good people... go to see Deadwood & Mt Rushmore. Visited Sturgis.  Spent a good part of a day in my tent with it raining at Chris's Campground.
On my way back I hauled buns. I was getting homesick. I rolled right up I-90 to Missoula... Man, there is a lot of Montana! Stayed at Jellystone Campground again, then rode on home the next day.
On the way back, felt vibration in the highway pegs... Heard some noise coming from the area of the U-joint... so guess that will be my next replacement, once I save up the money for it. Things are real tight on unemployment check and having cancer medical bills to pay.

Had a great time at Inzane and meeting you and a bunch of other guys made the trip all worthwhile. Chuck (with the Indian) and I made it to the Canadian border but would not let me cross because I did not have "Proof" of citizenship. Screw them, we just turned around and went home! (After taking some pix  cooldude)
Rode back in rain, construction and rain with road construction. Not my idea of a picnic. However, made it back Tuesday night without any problems. There is indeed <no place like home>.  Smiley
Got the rest of the Valkyrie parts ordered to complete the bike and now my starter switch is failing. Always something. Sad
Anyway, glad you made it home ok. Hope you can get that next job soon. See ya!  Pat

Where were you trying to cross the border into Canada? Wouldn't they take your drivers license as some proof. In Washington an enhanced drivers license can be issued and they have been accepted at border crossings in WA, ID and MT.

Part of the problem is one may get into Canada, but it could be a lot more difficult getting back into the US.

I think you have to have a passport nowadays.

Pass port or enhanced Drivers License is required to cross the border. Passport is the preferred Document as it also proves citizenship.

Hey Pat! Good to see you made it to Canada and back home! Suh-Weet! Yeah, had a great time my friend. I lost Chuck's and your email, but figured I could reach you here anyway.
Maybe the switch can be cleaned with contact cleaner? I would try that first.
I am getting old (and having cancer), and I have no college degree or certifications, I just have 21 years experience and am self taught. You would think that looking at my job history, having a company keep me on ten years would say something about my abilities.
Yeah, I was really trashed after cruising all the way across Montana in one day... Big state!
Let me wish you a happy Father's Day...
