It's been a while since anyone posted about this. The PO of my Tourer added a light bar with 55W bulbs in each, for obvious reasons. It is great on dark roads at lower speeds, but because the beams are fairly close in, not so good for those same roads at higher speeds, since it's hard to see past them. I know there are plenty of arguments on why HIDs shouldn't work, but I've found it comes down to the design of the headlamp, and mine isn't very good with even a Silverstar in it. I have the HID I had to remove from my old CB450, low beam only, that I used to test, to see if it is compatible. It works fine, so I ordered a Bi-Xenon from xenonriders, with the compact ballast option. The ballast and igniter fit under the plastic cheek panels, and I only had to extend the battery lead about 18" to reach the accessory fuse box behind the battery. The result couldn't be better - plenty of light on low and high beam, and not too much unfocused spill where you don't want it, especially directly in front of the wheel. IMO, it is well worth the $99 plus $7.50 ballast.
