Since I put a valve on my I/S I usually just leave the petcock in the on position sometimes reserve. Anybody ever have one fail in the OPEN position? Should have stated OEM valve. Smiley

I might be wrong but the Dan-Marc is a normally closed unit. It would be extremely odd if it failed in the open position. But just about anything is possible I guess.

I pulled my Dan-Marc out when I installed the belly tank since the fuel pump is now the shut off valve.

I have the Dan-Marc and I also leave the petcock on during the riding season.  So far, so good.

I've had the Dan Marc on for a number of years, along with an inline filter and Pingle petcock. Can't remember the last time I shut the petcock off, just know I've never had an issue with my setup.  cooldude
