hey all,

I got my new Clearview shield but with the new thickness of their shield and my windshield pouch the OEM screws are too short, I want to keep the dress acorn nuts on the surface and would like a nice polished look for the inside area.

anyone have a source for good looking bolts like these?

from the diagram it looks like they are 6 x 20 (mm?) but what does (NSHF) stand for?

I would go to Ace Hardware, they have a great selection of chrome fasteners

We have a bolt and fastener store close to me and I have found many bolts not availible at hardware stores. You should have something similar in you area.

ok i'll look around,

I didn't want to spend hours starting out on an scavenger hunt, running from Lowes, to Home Depot, auto parts stores and so on.

the closest cycle dealership w/ showrooms is 25 minutes away.

Well I found an Ace nearby, but they didn't have exactly what I was looking for, I did find out those are called flange bolts.

I bought stainless 6 x 25 Phillips head for the center and the 2 holes that the mounting brackets are attached with.

The contour of the shield was just a little off when it was all reassembled but it was hardly noticeable.

I got it mounted back on the bike and the new shield makes the bike look brand new.

I love the extra 1/16 of thickness of the Clearview shield it is really stands out and looks like it should have been what came OEM, it really fits the strength of the bike and it is a full 3/16".

The shield I got is a 19" height and that also gives the bike a much different look, I always thought the OEM 21 1/2" height was too tall. Now I have a nice line of sight over the shield. Even after I installed the new Ultimate Lowboy seat this spring, the top of the shield was not right.

I'm looking forward to getting out tomorrow afternoon to see how it rides.

Well anyway, ride safe everyone and have a great week, the 4th is coming up real quick.
