Depends on how you use the bike. If you take long trips, your ears will be ringing at the end of the day with loud exhausts. If it's real loud you will piss the neighbors off. I have car glass pack mufflers on mine. Louder than stock, but won't bother the neighbors or the car sitting next to me at the stoplight. But if you "get it on" it sounds pretty good. And the glasspacks are way cheaper. The local muffler shop did mine, charged $165 for the parts and installation. I have the stock covers and tips on the exhaust, just the guts are glasspacks.

Motorcycle Cruiser magazine did studies a few years ago. "Twelve Myths of Motorcycling". Loud pipes save lives is a myth that aggressive riders perpetrate. They said that guys with loud pipes get into more accidents than riders with quiet pipes. It's not the sound, it's their riding style. Speeding, tailgating, rapid lane changing are the reasons. After 50 yrs of no accidents on bikes, my plan is high visibility. More lights, hi vis yellow jacket, white helmet with reflective tape and a loud horn. Safety starts with a mindset, not pipes.

loud horns saves lives and upping your riding skills. triangle pattern of head and running lights makes one the most visible although I've seen some bikes with a light bar that greatly increases visibility. if u still want loud, two truck horns attached to your handle bars with the horn switch taped down.

I just got mine a month ago and still experimenting with silencers, trombones or just open mufflers. I've owned Cobras and they were to loud IMO. With the M2W I can pick what level of noise suits me.

I have had Mark T's exhaust on my I/S for a very long time. I do like them, but going to change them out to a stock exhaust for a while. Going into stealth mode. I don't always wear my helmet, but when I do, I have to wear ear plugs because of the exhaust noise is so loud. And when wearing my helmet, I can't count the times I forgot to put the earplugs in and stopped immediately to put them in. So that hassle will be gone. I'm thinking the stereo will be more enjoyable also. I pick up my new exhaust gaskets this afternoon.

The Silencers, which I had newly invented back then, no longer need a handle to insert/remove. Might be yours are too inconvenient for you to use. Send them back & I will modify them so they go in easy like current silencers. You can also go extra-quiet by putting a wad of SS wool in the stack right before inserting the silencers. Quieter than stock.
