Back on top with updates.   Ride route is in this thread of these messages.

So far, the weather forecast looks good, sunny for the weekend with a slight rain chance Sunday(local forecast).  The Weather Channel states partly cloudy/sunny all weekend, chance of rain on Sunday.
Temps should be high 70's during the day, mid 50's  overnight for the CBR.

You may want to consider leathers if cold blooded but don't forget raingear if coming a great distance(?) (oxymoron for the Long Riders).  The rain has been far south of Crawfordsville all week.

There is road construction (repaving) in front of the Quality Inn.  Hopefully it will be nearly completed by the weekend of the CBR.  Expect possible rough roads on US231 close to the hotel.

Gas prices here fluctuate wildly, we can be at the nat'l ave. or 20 cents below per gallon, go figger.

Please signup so JoelB can plan the amounts for the meal!!  The full DINNER will be $15 per person AYCE. (Or BYOB)

We will have 2 vendors attending:  Valkyrie Bling and More, and XF6-Custom/Woody's Fairings/VTX-treme.  Please patronize them both as they do support the charity.  Buy tickets for the 50-50 and raffle!!!  cooldude

Admission for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum has been quoted as $3/person for our group.  This is VERY reasonable.  A bus tour may also be available for the same amount.  Great racing history on display!

Please ask them to sign up so JoelB will have a head count to buy food.  He always has some extra, but definitely doesn't want to run out.

This is an abbreviated writeup of the route.

2009 - 10th Covered Bridge Ride
September 18-20, 2009

Riding directions for the CBR route.  Note: There will be a Gas stop on route @ 100 miles.  Top off your tank in Crawfordsville before leaving!

10:00 a.m. Approx.  Leave the Quality Inn with Police escort south on US 231.
Take 47S (right turn) out of town towards Rockville.  Just after Turkey Run State Park, turn south (left) on US41 into Rockville.
In Rockville, turn east (left) onto US36 at the stoplight.  We will NOT be stopping at the Burger King, as in past years.  Riders can join with the group there, but we will NOT be stopping.   Those joining here should have topped off fuel tanks.
At the first light at the Courthouse (Market St.), turn right 1 block, then left at the stop sign (High St) to go around the Courthouse.  We will go 3 blocks to a stop and then bear right onto Bridgeton Road.  This will take us into Bridgeton.  Food and drink will be available.

12 noon Approx.  Leave Bridgeton for Mansfield Village
We will leave Bridgeton, going east on Hawkins Rd. to SR59.  Turn north (left) onto SR59 and go approx. 2.5 miles to Mansfield Village.

1p.m. Approx.  Leave Mansfield Village for Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Turn north (right) onto SR59 and go approx. 5.5 miles to US36.
Turn east (right) onto US36 towards Danville, IN (approx. 30 mi.)
(Those wanting to return to the hotel can follow SR59 to Waveland and
then SR47 north to Crawfordsville.  US36 will also intersects SR231
and go north back to Crawfordsville.)
In Danville, turn north (left) onto SR39 and travel 8.5 miles to the I-74 and
Turn east (right) towards Indianapolis on I-74.
***I-74 Exit 61 (Pittsboro exit) GAS STOP at Love’s Travel Center.***
Continue east on I-74 to Indianapolis / Speedway.
I-74 becomes Crawfordsville Rd in Speedway, IN , continue straight to 16th St.

Bear left onto 16th St from Crawfordsville Rd.

The Main Entrance to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is on 16th St.  Get into the left lane and then the left turn lane where the tunnels go under the track.  The Speedway Museum is straight ahead after going thru the tunnels.  Admission charge was stated as $3/person for our group.

When returning to the Quality Inn, turn west (right) onto 16th St and bear right onto Crawfordsville Rd.  It turns into I-74 again and follow it to Exit 34 / US231 at Crawfordsville, IN.

JoelB will be expecting us for the BBQ after 5:00 pm.
