« on: July 16, 2015, 04:22:39 PM »

Just wondered what the various tastes are in our varied group?
From your favorite beer to whatever....what's your flavor?

Will start it off.
Later on tonight I am thinking some Atlantico rum. Rocks glass with about three cubes in the bottom of it and just enough  Atlantico to cover the ice. Great sipping rum!

Sourced form the Dominican Republic (one of my favorite places for molasses based rum) this rum is a blend that goes through at least 3 barreling and aging periods. First they select small batch aged rums and blend them. Second step is to put them in casks (am thinking bourbon casks) for a unspecified period to marry and mellow. Third and final step is to place them in yet another set of barrels in a Solera system to age for upwards of 15 to 25 years.

Water, water, water.

But then

What's Miller Lite and making love in a canoe got in common?

Both f'in close to water.

Jose Cuervo Gold. The closest I've found to drinking industrial chemicals.

I REALLY like both the above.

Then bourbon, bourbon, bourbon.

Knob Creek, Buffalo Trace, Makers Mark and the number one Clyde Mays.

I'm having cheap whiskey with a redhead chaser.

This weekend I'll probably switch to craft brew IPA'S with a brunette chaser.

Not much for beer any more. Won't tell you what beer I drink.  Sorta like oil and Darkside discussions.

Chivas Regal on the rocks or with soda water.  Moscow Mule, Dark and Stormy.

No taste for bourbon.

Wines: good box wines in Cabernet with red meat and Moscado with chicken.

All in extreme moderation.  Quit drinking seriously after Army days.

Sweet
Full bodied
Subtle hints of fruit and caramel
Bit of pepper on the finish

Hey Nick! Hope your farm is prospering! Good to see ya.

Me? I am drinking aged iced tea... 1 gallon brews whilst the second is being tapped on.

I have to take care of my liver and the tumors growing in there... Looking forward to the next surgery... Aaaaghhh... Hoping to grow back some of what I lost and I don't need any setbacks...

But I sure do miss stopping at the local microbreweries and tasting the wares...

Forty Creek is my favorite out-of-the-bottle brand...

Have a small batch of non-forty creek aging now, won't test until November. Hope it comes out good..

Have been experimenting with a couple of different blends to see what I will attempt to age next..

I'm thinking maybe rum with a twist...

Thanks Hotglue for your recommendations on containers.. Good to learn from the Master!!
