Bought my Valk on July 17th.  Mods to date:  Added the Show Chrome LED rectangular fog lights for increased visibility.  Picked up a used set of Corbin Fleetliner bags from a wonderful gentleman in Ohio and now I've taken a Givi monolock top case I had from a 2003 scooter I had and added that.  The top case needs to be sanded and painted to match the bike but its a close enough blue to throw it on there for a week or so till I can get around to repainting it.

I was wondering how you made a Give Box work with Corbin saddlebags. Your Givi is way smaller than the two that I own.

The Corbin lids slam right into the bigger Givi's that I have.

I'm taking a long distance trip here shortly and will use a regular piece of soft luggage strapped to the passenger seat and used as a back rest as well.

I'm disappointed I can't use a large Givi style box with the Corbin bags because the Corbins look so damn good on our bikes.

To make saddle bags work with a top box,  the lids would have to open like the Harley lift and slide type saddle bags.

I think the opportunity is wide open to a company that designs a saddle bag that hugs our bikes like the Corbin but opens differently so it doesn't open into a large top box (tour pack).

A larger opening saddle bag would be a really nice addition as well.

I made this ugly bracket to put my Givi trunk on... I used it some
before the saddlebags came in. It's off now, but ready to use
on long trips... saddlebag lids open, passenger has good
backrest and the trunk lid opens over the backrest...

Mike,
I am looking to buy "http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-e370-tech-monolock-topcase"
This also comes with Universal Mounting Plate.

But i am not sure if i have to buy the mounting bracket like this one
http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-m5m-monolock-top-case-mounting-plate?

I do have a "Rear Carrier Luggage Rack" installed. I prefer to mount it on top of it. But the load capacity for the 'Rear carrier Luggage Rack' concerns me 6.6 LBS. This Givi case itself is 8.8 LBS.

Wilkins,
Most of the time i ride to work solo, So i am thinking of mounting like 'wilkins' and remove the Rear Carrier luggage rack. Wilkins can you share some more details on what do i need?

thanks a lot!

I have monokey instead of monolock stuff, so it doesn't directly
relate... but...

I think you'll for sure need an appropriate mounting plate... the mounting
plate is fixed to the rear carrier and the trunk is fixed to the plate... is swilkens'
mounting place bolted directly to the Valkyrie's fender grab handles?

Honda's lawyers make them put those lawyer stickers on there I guess.
I think the new Valkyrie's rear carrier is much more studly than the
old Valkyrie's, and I hauled a giant Givi trunk all over the country
with that one...

To mount my Givi mono lock case plate I made brackets that bolt into the interior screw holes on the grab handles, removed the rear pillion seat and then screw/nut secured the Givi plate to the brackets.  Not the best quality welds or assembly but when the case is on you really can't even see any of it.
