Anyone have any experience with these LED headlight lamps? Just curious. Thinking about trying one. The reviews all seem pretty good.

Got this on both my Valks. Very bright and a true high beam. Use code "ADV" for 10% off.

It's a drop in replacement for the OEM bulb, no modifications required to get it to fit. A lot of Valkyrie riders, especially on the facebook group are using this bulb on their bikes.

I know a few of the Florida boys including Grumpy have switched to LEDs. Has been a while now and no failures and no complaints. They have a thread over there in the Florida section or just PM Grumpy.

Mine lasted about 1 year and the low beam died on it. The company "Headwinds" was very quick to replace it with the only cost to me being shipping. I am hoping this one will last longer, other than that i love my LED headlight!

I've said before, I would be interested in trying out the new LED headlights if I didn't already have a solution with my 130/90 headlight mod together with aircraft landing light spots.

Now I have another Valk coming, a '97 Tourer.  I have a list of mods I'm doing to it.  Just ordered this bulb, it's enroute already.  Also will be adding spots.

Question.  Is it truley just plug in?  How does the ruber boot fit around it? Seems like you would half to modify it somehow?

That looks better than the one I have - my highbeam is virtually useless.

Hey Big Poppa, the driving lights on the crash bar look nice as well.  Adding LEDs in that location is something I have been considering for quite a while.  Now I see it &  like it.  Care to share the brand & your opinion on performance?

I just ordered one, it sounds like it will work out great. I have a 75 mile ride to work, at 2:30 AM and am always nervous as a cat that there's going to be something in the road and I won't see it in time.

Please let us know how it works out. Won't be able to order one until I get home from my next hitch mid-September.

Got it in the mail couple days ago - put it in today. Need to go for an evening / night ride to check out the patterns. Also discovered that one of the front bolts that holds the passenger seat inplace had worked itself out and was gone - and the other front was pretty loose. got them taken care of as well.

On the headlight, I installed relays that are triggered by the OEM wires to the bulb.  Two relays.  Replaced the H4 socket with a ceramic one from NAPA.  Autozone has a high-power one also.  Got a 130/90 bulb from competition accessories - here: http://www.compacc.com/p/kuryakyn-replacement-headlight-bulbs  This mod is written up at http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/Tech_Tips/Headlight_Upgrade/headlight_upgrade.html  Bonus, you take the load off the hi-lo and starter switches.  Been running this setup since 1998.  No problems with the reflector or lens.

On the A/C lights, they are Wagner H7604 bulbs, 50w.  Also used by the San Diego sheriff's dept for spots on their cruisers.  That's where I got them - from their surplus inventory via ebay. I think I paid like $5 ea.  Now they go for $16-20. Got a bunch of them as it was a great price.  Mounted them on the forks using Rifle billet shield mounts.  Wired via relay and 3-pos sw, which selects triggers "on with ignition" (blu-wh wire into hi-lo sw); off; or "on with hi-beam" (blu wire into headlight).  Both of these wires are switched off when you hit the starter to provide max juice for cranking/ignition. Generally have it selected, "on with high beam".  When I see someone planning to cross my path, I hit the hi beam.  These A/C lights come on with the 130w hi beam modulating (along with the 50w halogens on the crash bar, already on).  MELTS their retinas.  No way they don't see me. Going to set up the tourer the same - except I have this new Cyclops LED H4 instead of the 130/90 bulb with modulator.

have fun getting it in the interstate. I just tried to put mine in tonight. looks like the fairing is gonna have to come off to do it. got tired of fighting the light and the clip at the same time. and once you get the clip situated in where it needs to be. then you can't get it latched because your fingers won't fit between the bulb fan and the fairing. so this winter when I remove the fairing to install my victory cross country turn signals i'll be able to wrestle it in there and use either pliers or a screw driver to get the clip latched

Is the low beam light pattern cutoff as sharp as a regular H4? I don't want to blind oncoming traffic if I can help it.

Not sure about the cutoff level, but I haven't blinded anyone so far. Not a single car has flashed its lights at me.

well the verdict is in. i like them alot. got stuck in traffic so i turned on my manual switch to run the fan.
voltage used to drop to 12.5 when idling with the fan running. now it stays at 14.0 volts. by george i think we have a winner for headlights.

If you were on the fence, you waited too long:

These guys do have a sense of humor though...

Lets see, 30,000 hours at an avg of 45 mph = 1,350,000 miles.  Don't think anybody has that many miles yet on their Valk yet...  But its possible: if someone bought a Valk in 2000, and put on about 90,000 miles year, he'd be there... Grin

Can anybody with an IS post some comparison pics at night?
