I noticed that the HONDA part number had changed for the front tire, and hoped
for the best.

I bought one over the phone at the Toccoa Honda Shop, it came in and I
went over there this morning and had it mounted for this weekend's ride.

It is a totally different tire, completely different tread pattern.

So far I like it just fine  cooldude

Well, either two different companies have molds for that tire or one company has two molds.

Turns out there's another option: they sent me the bias-ply American Elite that people
run on Harleys and I guess I like it OK because it is a new tire... we'll see what happens
next...

I had the American Elite on my HD when I,owned it and got the best mileage out of a tire I ever got. 17k+on the rear not completely used up and 23k on the front and it wasn't all used up either when replaced. I now have one on my IS rear just hoping to get 12-13k as I have never got over 9k on the rear of a Phat Gurl. We will see I have about 5k on it now and notice very little wear yet. cooldude
