Anyone having second-thoughts about their Corbin seat, and interested in selling?
I figured it's worth asking before I write a big check to Corbin.

Thanks,
Steve

If you call and are willing to settle on a already made seat they do have some available that were made and people did not pick them up or had a problem.

I like mine "pretty dang much", though it starts to feel hard near the end
of a tank of gas... (around 200 miles)... some days have more than one
tank...

Be the guinea pig and send off for a Russell and tell us what that
is like  Smiley ...

Although I do not have experience with the Corbin on the Valkyrie... my experience with them in the past - they are the hardest saddle I have ever been on... literally, like a horse saddle. It was beautiful, well made, etc... just not made for my behind.

I have a chipped coxis bone... and after sitting for a few hours in the wrond position... it is painful. The Corbin did not help.

I have a Ultimate on my 98 (I know...) and have heard many GREAT things about the Russell day long from many a long distance riders.

If I were to look for a new saddle, I would look at Russell...

Thank you most kindly for the feedback - it's just what I suspected / feared.  Sad  I want a gunfighter-style seat but it looks like I'll have to wait until someone else comes out with one.

For me, the stock seat is uncomfortable for long distances not because of the firmness but because of the flatness; the seat is quite wide for my modest size and the firm outer edge of the seat makes a pressure point into the base of my thighs.  I'm thinking that, if all else fails and this seat does not break in any more, that simply sending it away to be reshaped into a rounder, more 'soft' form would work.  It needs more "tractor shape".

I should have been more specific in my original post, I'm looking for the Corbin 2-up seat.  Looking for a way to quickly switch from a single stock seat to 2-up when my wife wants to join in, without having to keep the Honda backrest on all the time.

Also, since I live on an island that's 42 miles long, there are no more 200-400 mile days for me :-)

I'll follow up with a call to Corbin, but if anyone would like to take back their decision to buy a 2-up Corbin, please let me know.

Thanks,
Steve

Your post changed slightly with your last response which is not a problem, but most of us are wondering how we can improve our seats. Even if we only ride by ourselves.

I found a company that sounds interesting by the name of "KonTour" that takes your existing seat and modifies it and makes it more comfortable like Day Long. Go to their website and take a look.

This will not help your 2 up situation, I don't think, but might help some of the other owners that would like to modify their existing seats.

Has anyone used this company and what are your thoughts?

Just to add here. I love my Corbin, I was concerned the week it sat on the table that it felt very hard but now I love it.
Because it fits me like a glove is why the lack of pillow top does not matter.   I have owned a Russell Day Long for my old Valk and they are the tractor shape and it was a wonderful seat as mentioned, maybe Russell is a way to go for you but you will be with out a seat unless you buy an second Honda Oem to send in.

I guess we are all different in shape and unfortunately we don't always have the opportunity to test drive seats. I would gladly give a brother 1800c rider a go on mine to form their own opinion. If only Hawaii was next to Florida.

Steve, what you were asking for switch wise is what I have done.  Two Allen bolts and the two up Corbin is off and two Allen bolts in the forward holes and I am solo with the OEM seat. Also took off the grab rails and put the fender inserts in.

I am trying it with and without the driver back rest. Also bought the rear luggage rack power coated black that is made to fit the 5/8" x 5/8" Corbin passenger back rest post.  All comes off with two bolts.

Yep, that's what I want to do too.  Still not certain about removing the rails, although I like the look.  Need to give her something to hold on to.
Now if I can just get a deal on a 2-up...

Everyone's arms twist to a different comfort zone... but Carolyn hates
the rails. I'd remove them if I didn't use them to hold the rear carrier.

I have two sizes of ugly Givi trunks that I can attach to the rear carrier
if I need to be out for more than two or three days... I don't think the
Corbin rear carrier is up to holding a trunk full of crap... especially the
big one...

Totally correct Mike, the rear carrier is very light duty. Sherry did not like the rails at all, lucky for us here in Florida there is not a bunch needed in the clothes/layers department and given the simple rides we do with the small hilly spot in the middle of the state.  A good part of Florida has two curves, right turn and left turn.  2funny
