I have had two time that my bike stopped running or couldn't get it started.

Yes the bike was in neutral, stand up, key on, lights all lit and kill switch on or off. However you prefer.

I touch the switch lightly when the bike is running and it dies. Riding this afternoon I touched the switch lightly and it died. Not enough to click to off.

I will call the dealer tomorrow to see if they have one and see when they can get it installed.

I know there is a repair for this, but my bike has less than 1000 miles

Yea I'd make them replace it. That could be a safety issue going down the highway.

I totally agree get the dealer to repair it. Honda has been not the best when it comes to switches. They are not enclosed and not heavy duty and some were having problems on the 1500 also. Easy fix and you should get your bike back soon.

I had an issue at 65k on a 97 1500, the switch wouldn't allow the bike to start/run, the contacts had corroded a bit, cleaned the up and it was fine.

"To where?" I asked.

One of the dealers I called on this defective switch wanted me to leave the bike for a week and a half because they are so busy, so I called another dealer about a 1/2 hour away.

They ordered the switch which came in in about 2 days which I did have to pay for until they confirmed it was a warranty issue. They didn't have to see the bike first so I didn't have to leave the bike.

I rode in yesterday, touched the switch which killed the bike and they replaced it for free, including the price of the switch ($107.00) approx.

I feel a whole lot safer knowing the bike will not just shut off while riding.

Awesome!  cooldude  Great to hear that they took care of you.  I guess that's the advantage of buying the luxury-level product from such a well-known company, small things are handled rather than squabbled over.

All I had to do was tap the side of the red/orange rocker kill switch. Not hard and not in the direction of the way the switch rocks, just a tap and the bike died. Again, once, it wouldn't even crank.

I would suggest everyone tries it before their bike dies on the highway, or worse.

Sound off if you have a problem

My bike is a 2014

I just spoke to Honda Customer service. 866-784-1870
My problem was documented. I was told that the initial step is to contact my dealer. They would check it out and fix whatever and document that with Honda. He advised me to have all owners to call customer support to report this problem. Typical chain of complaints.  Roll Eyes

I checked the switch yesterday, tapped on it, bumped the throttle and it stayed running.  Actuated the switch a few times and the bike started right up each time
