Finally found a reasonable quote to do my Bags and would like to see what custom 2 tone schemes people have done. Obviously mine will be yellow and black but doesn't matter if yours is different. Looking for ideas to decide what would be to my liking. Bring on the photos..................... cooldude

I would probably do an OEM tourer style paint job... but I
can't wait to see what kind of pictures end up here...

I understand some may go with a tourer look. I'd rather not and I have another idea but want to see what others have done before I make a decision so permanent.  cooldude

Had mine done to (sorta') match the tank. Would have liked the scallops a bit wider, but my painter did an awesome job.

Your bag is what I have in mind with a scallop that matches the tank (a little wider) but looking forward to seeing the creativity we have in our club  cooldude

This is my wife's bike.  I like the scheme but I too wish the painter had put a little more volume and location into he scallops.  My fault.  I could've certainly given more specific direction.

I think what really makes this paint job is the matching side covers but you won't need that with the chrome.

Actually showed the painter a pic of yours but feel the side covers with it really make that combo work best. Thanks for posting  cooldude

I have a '98 Tourer OEM paint, I like these pics and I can visualize your idea.

If you don't mind a thought though, I think the bag scallop (as you call it) should be similar (but symmetrical) to the tank.

The tail end (the pointy part) should come center to the back of the lid, ending at just above the latch.

as I said just a thought and an outsiders opinion.

good luck, I bet it will look great

It is.  But for the bags and side covers it's an OEM paint job.

Nothing fancy about what I did with the IS bags just a simple black front with a line on bottom of sides going all the way around.

It is hard to get the color to look right in a  photo. It is Synergy Green (GM Paint) it has a pearl top coat and looks really good in the sun.

thanks looking back I should have added some black to the radiator pods but that wouldn't hard to correct at any time.

Yeah just a touch on the front of them, maybe like the style of the bags. Like you say you can always add that.  cooldude

Thanks.  Got great deals on the bags and mounts.  While a very good deal on the paint - it did put a hurt on the wallet.

That is almost exactly what I have in mind. Wish I had more pictures at different angles of that one. Thanks

There are a lot of nice custom schemes out there. Just my opinion but, with oem style paint job on the tank, I've never seen a better tu-tone paint scheme on the bags than oem Interstate style. Especially on a Tourer or Standard with non-Interstate colors. Like I said, that's just my liking.

Set of Fog lights - the black rubber boots would bring in the black - not cheap but I think would look great.
