There is a funny connector in the right side little box that has switched power. I want to run a USB outlet up front to charge a phone while riding.

Should I buy a matching connector (# please), or just cut the connector off and tap the wires.

OR, just use a 3M wire splice that would be connected before the strange looking connector?

I will be routing a 12v cigarette lighter that hooks to my battery tender cord that also use for powering my heated riding gear.

There is a aux connection under the seat in that box that has a 5 amp fuse to it and is switched. I would run a relay with a separate fuse to the battery for the heated stuff. It would also be easy to put in that box the electrical stuff needed to charge the phone and just have a connector running from it. Most phones require 5v like a usb adapter and that can be put under the seat in a bag for water proofing.

you can go to cycleconnections.com for the connector, I got one there but have no part number, just take a good look at the plug under seat and scroll down in the Honda section, you will find it easily. another source is qualitycycleparts.com
