We went to the Russell Day Long shop about 6 weeks ago. Thought I would put up some pics.

This was our first trip with the trailer. We wanted to try a little camping. This was the first night in Mammoth Lakes.

We stayed in Tahoe one night. This car was at our hotel.

nice scenery, your wife seems to have had a great trip with you. What does she think of the Russell?

Mammoth Lakes area is on my bucket list to ride on a bike

How long did you spend it each place exploring?

Yeah she is becoming a real "biker b!-/#h"  2funny She was happier with the Ultimate. The Russell is comfortable for her but a little harder to get on and off. Mammoth Lakes is really nice, I like going up 395 vs. 99 or 5 because there is a lot less traffic. We only spent a day each in Mammoth, Tahoe. 2 in Shasta Lake and 1 each in Santa Rosa and Bakersfield. Lots of great roads up there. I think my favorite was a little road from Redding to Platina and then on to Hiway 36.  Smiley

Nice photos MH, thx for posting. How did the camping go? By your photos it looks like the tent on the first night, then hotel after that  Wink  My co-pilot won't camp on the ground, and I'm not ready to tow a tent trailer (may never be) so it's mostly B & B's and small motels on our extended rides. A few years ago I went on a rare solo trip for a week with an old riding buddy from my younger years ... we thought we'd re-live our early 20's and hit the road with camping gear packed to the bikes. Set up the tents the first night and all was good. During the night the valve burst on my sleeping mat and a storm ripped my tent, and my buddy woke up with a crooked back. Camping gear stayed strapped to the bikes for the rest of the week and us old farts moteled it the rest of the way   2funny  Gonna upgrade the gear for my ride to WV next year though, and give 'er another shot  cooldude

Day 1: Hitting the road, just like back in the old days...

First evening: Yup, this is gonna be great....

Second evening: Well, back to the motels Embarrassed

msb, we did about half and half. Camped 1 night in Mammoth then hotel one night Tahoe, then 2 days camping at Shasta lake. Hotels rest of the way. I bought one of those big queen size air mattresses, it is a real tall one. You can sit on it and have your feet barely touch the floor. But it is pretty heavy, probably 35 lb.
