The B&B had a cancellation and I got a room reserved, so Kerri and I will be there as well.
I thought we were going to have to stay at the motel in town, I Hope it wasn't anyone in this group who had to cancel!

I am meeting Dave Stoffer at Dover to take the scenic route on K-4, he is a retired fireman from Lawrence that rides with the ROMEOS.  He has a one owner 98 Tourer, he and I are the only Valk riders in that group.  I met him at IZ at Frisco, he wasn't aware that we had a Kansas valkyrie group.  Should be there by noon. Dress warm if it is as cool as today was at 0700.   Hoser   cooldude

Pam and I are leaving tomorrow afternoon for a nice afternoon ride and are staying the night at the Best Western in McPherson if anyone wants to join us. That way we aren't having to leave here at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning. Really looking forward to meeting all of you and catching some wind.

Kerri and I will be along, not sure whaaat time we are going to be out of here in the AM. We may wait and head out withDale & Lori. I was thinking about piddling around on old K-40 on the way down. If we miss the group @ the museum we will probably just poke around Lindsbourg for the day.

The wife and I will be leaving home around 6:45 - 7:00 am. Going to enjoy K-4 route, stop for breakfast in Eskridge and hope to catch up with the group for lunch in Wilson.

Those that rode to McPherson today sure caught some wind!

My Dad was in Council Grove today. He called when he got home to tell me he saw 2 Valks going through town. One rider had a "BIG" mustache!

We got in to Lindsborg this afternoon. Stude31, Jessi, Engemt and Cindy are here, as well.  We had supper together and sat around for a while just chatting (well....we may have laughed a LITTLE  angel ). It sure was one windy ride!   Looking forward to seeing the rest of you tomorrow!

OK, final change in plans. We are saving K-4 route for the return ride on Sunday. We'll ride the super slab, quick b-fast on the way, and catch up in Marquette.

I was INCREDIBLY disappointed that I could not make it. I really need the trip away but family always comes first.
I look forward to seeing what is decided for the next get together.

I a glad a good time was had by all and that it was a safe weekend.

OK,
Anyone else interested in doing this again?

Dale and I have been kicking around hosting a ride/gathering for a while now. If there is interest I would like to consider the weekend of August 19th - 21st. We have several ideas but would like to see what interest there is from people before we get too involved in setting this up.

Ok, we have interest!

As far as a ride goes, What is the preference? Short, Long medium ride? Organized group ride, or a few options layed out with landmarks and you can ride when/where you want?

We've been calling this the "Flat Busted Ride". We've got a few hundred miles of beautiful Kaw River valley and scenic Flint Hills here in our back yard just waiting to disprove the myth that Kansas is Flat as a Pancake.

Wamego has two motels and a nice B&B, I would be happy to find out rates and information. If anyone was truly interested I could get info on the "Oz Museum" here as well. They tell me it's an attraction, but I've  been here longer than it has and haven't seen much need to see it. There are two local wineries with store fronts down town, and not too far away there is an awesome steak house that everyone should have an opportunity to experience before they die.

We aren't committed to a particular date just yet, but I would like to get something set sooner rather than later. If there is a weekend in that general time frame that works better throw it out there and we'll see how it works with everyone else.

South 40 cafe in Westmoreland, best and cheapest food around, Laclede road from US24 to Onaga, on north from there to Centralia. K9 towards Frankfort, on to Waterville, and south along us77 to Randolph then east, Museums in Marysville, Hollenburg etc, etc, all great area roads plus many more.  Hoser   cooldude

If y'all don't mind someone from Missouri joining in, I might be able to make it.  Hopefully, the doc will clear me to ride by then.  Between the weather and hernia surgery, I haven't been able to go on a decent ride this year.  Cry  Even had to cancel the trip to Robber's  Cave.  It would be good to see Carl and Lori again also.

You're thinking of Coffeyville.  Cherryvale has brown dirt, very light brown with a lot of clay, but brown.   Cool
