Wow Hoser!  I didn't know their was that many "ORF'S" in kansas that still rode a motor scooter 2funny   Glad you made it back safe...  At your age that is tough on a person's body staying up that late and riding.  I would never consider doing something like that  angel

Obviously ya can't take it kiddo, ya missed the fall color ride up to nebrasky after carousing Sat night!  2funny 2funny 2funny hoser
BTW, Clint wants to talk to ya about mile ridden by old guys, he's got 28000 on his IS since march 09 when he bought it.  got all the states but AZ, FL, looziana and new england.  Wish he would post his north america map, seems I remember the four big privinces in canada colored it also.  Talk about an old iron butt!  He needs to meet ya anyway.  He lives in Independence Mo, but I don't think he spends much time there.  2funny 2funny 2funny

Great Day, great fellowship, and great riding! Wow what a time. I started off meeting Stude31 here at Newton, I think cause he was dressed in black and riding a black Interstate he thought he was in Stealth Mode and flew in by 8:00 am. We grabbed a quick bite, filled with gas and met Raymond, Rhonda, and Blackduck Ks with his wife right on time and off to Hutchinson we went. The skys were clear, the air was warm and fresh, the ride over went well.

Upon arriving at the Kansas Underground Salt Museum we meet up with 1FastBob and his wife in his "Bullit Mustang" almost as cool as a Valk and definately not a KIA (couldn't resist SS), and Valkhound, who flew in as well under the radar. After an interesting tour it was off to the Dutch Kitchen at Pleasantview for a good home cooking taste of the Amish. A place that could give Motomama a run for her money when it comes to pie! Or maybe it is visa versa!!!

After lunch it time to wander the Kansas prairie and take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the harvest that is in full force. A little of natures animals was observed and even a few HD's spotted. Most of them were headed the other way, but one young lady got to watch as five Valkyries blew by!

Overall, a great day with friends. I got about 210 miles in and the others a lot more, but an honor and privilidge to meet and spend time with each of you. Let's do it again soon.

Just letting everyone know, Stude31 made it home safe and sound. He sounded pretty beat, but should have, he worked all night rode 430+ miles and up all day. Almost sounds like he could make a railroader when he grows up. Great meetin up with you again, Joe! JDW

I had a great time in Hutchinson meeting all of you and being 650' below ground level in the salt mine.  It was great fun.  Lunch was pretty good also. With good people like you to run around with makes me seriously consider keeping the Interstate and not selling it.  Wish the Interstate was running better so I could have brought it and went on an after lunch ride.  Stopped at Sears and bought a creeper seat and an inch pound torque wrench so now I am ready to kick some butt on those plugged Valk carbs. again.  Soon the Interstate will be running smooth.  Take care and thanks!

Hey

I made it home at 7:05pm and 452 miles later.  Had an awesome time as mentioned previously.  Dana always good to see you brother!  Had a wonderful time finally getting to meet Bob and Cathy.  You two were great sports and I hope you felt comfortable from the get go.  I know I really enjoyed visiting with you two.  Bob, if you liked our outing just wait until InZane it is an amazing group of folks I am so honored to be apart of a group that truly cares for one another and would give the shirt off their back for a fellow member.  I hope you get your I/S up and running to snuff so you can bring Cathy on a ride..

Raymond and Rhonda, great to see you guys sorry Lori couldn't be there oh the restaurant would have been "sshhhhing" you two!!!!   Oh well next time..   and Raymond here is the link for my brake lights...

Blackduck it was a joy to see guys as well....  John "Engemt" Whistler..  hmmmm  all I can say is the Black valkyries are always swarming under the radar.... "fast black"!!!   Good riding with you as well...

Here are a few pics that I was able to capture prior to realizing that my batteries in my camera were almost dead.

I made it home just fine you all.  Always fun to see everyone and new faces.  It was a very great day for me.  Second time on my bike since surgery, and I was glad it was a beautiful, windless day in Kansas.  I did go straight to bed with ice pack on the shoulder and slept for 4 hours!!  Teehee!!!  Gotta stay home today and do some homework instead of riding with my man.  Let's do this again, except we can leave the salt mine out next time.  Hey Lori, did miss ya.  We'll text next time side by side!!!  That will be fun for us, but not for Raymond.  Hahahahaha!!!!    angel

mmm, I feel a little envy poppin up here.  Couldn't go Satuday because of work, but  did manage to hook up wih Clint, Venture Bob and 3 off duty cops on Harleys  for a little 300 or so on Sunday.  Ventured up into Nebrasky and Mizzou,  Pigged out  at the breffus bar at the casino again, and took off for Rulo Ne.  croseed the river and went to mound city and on north to the bridge back accross the river at Rockport. Found out it was closed, considered going on into Iowa to cross at Nebraska City.  Blew a blast down I 29 to cross again at Rulo, instead.  80 mph against a 30mph headwind yeilded 30 mpg, not bad!  Anyway, glad ya had fun, we did too! hoser

I rode out east and back Sunday. That wind was brutal. I didn't even want to go the speed limit at times. I was doing good holding 60. 350 mile day and my neck feels it today.

I was on a picture mission to Mildred.

stude, it was nice meeting you in blackwell today.  We will have to get together for a ride sometime.

So everyone can figure out what I am talking about I rode from ponca city to wichita and pulling up to the stoplight at I-35 I looked over and saw stude on his I/S at the gas pump.  I had to pull over and talk.

The Hickory Tree in Smolan, Ks but they are only open Fri/Sat nights @ 5-9pm, or Sundays 11-2 pm,never been but heard it is great BarQ. The Farmhouse at Abilene not open on Mondays, Sunday 11-2, tues-sat 11-2 or 5-9, again never been but heard it is very good. Meridy's in Russell, Ks. has fantastic steaks, a bit pricey but good. The Airport Restaurant in Hutchinson is also very good. How's that for suggestions! cooldude  coolsmiley JDW
