So, we have another new location for our September meet-up. We'll be in Baytown at Tortuga's: 4710 East Fwy, Baytown, TX 77521-8883 (281) 839-3902
As usual, we'll be meeting at 7:30. I will not be able to be there, as I'll still be in Alabama, but ya'll trudge on without me. Topics of interest include the "meet in the middle" ride, and the DFW Ride for Kids.
Yes, I'm sending this out way too early in the morning. Duty calls. Now that duty's been pacified, I'm headed to the Smokies. Ya'll have fun Wednesday.

Not sure if I'll make it. Right now, probably not. I've going to be working in Baton Rouge area. Return flight is scheduled to arrive Hobby at 7:00. But, this last week I was able to catch the earlier flight and made it in my 5:15.
QOTFU is planning to make the dinner. I sync'd the SHE-TWIN carbs this morning. So, I'm finished with the gages for now. She'll bring them to the dinner for the next in line.

I would like to be next. I didn't get to sync mine during our last wrench party and mine needs it really bad. BTW, the exit it 792 off of I-10 for the dinner Wednesday night. When you get off of the freeway, get over to the right quickly and pull into the mall parking lot. You can go through the parking lot to get back to Tortuga's that you just passed while getting off of the freeway. Hay Jimmyt

It's yours. This will just continue to make the rounds until we've synched every carb in sight.

The set has straight, 45 degree, and 90 degree long needle nose pliers. I think the 45 degree ones are the best ones for pulling the vaccuum lines and plugs off of the carbs, but will donate all 3 to the gauge kit. Looking forward to Tortugas Wednesday night! Hay Jimmyt

Sounds great. Now all you need is the suitcase and a phillips screwdriver (allen wrench if you've got IS pods), and you're set! We'll have a traveling garage before we're done!

Well, I will get a phillips and the correct size allen and put it in the case. I will only put the 45 degree pliers in the case to make room for the phillips and allen.. Good idea there Rocketman! Too bad you can't be here for the dinner..... Hay Jimmyt

Sorry Early Bird, Wizard and I missed it. But, Early Bird and I are on the way to pick up Wizard and his bike. We're just outside Indianapolis, headed on to Michigan.
Like Tinman, I wish I could have been there, but there are priorities....

These people look like they are having a good time! I gave away some long handle needle nose pliers to several people. I kept one for the gauge set and I will leave it with the set. I am looking for a phillips and the correct size allen wrench for the IS pods and as soon as I find them, I will leave them with the gauge set also. There were some really nice Valks that showed up to the meeting. Not many people that had been to meetings this year, so there was a lot of new faces! Very good meeting. Hay Jimmyt

Plus, when someone goes to visit Wizard (once he gets home), I made 3 simple pilot tools and left them at the last wrench party. Once of those added to the Carb Sync kit would be helpful to those without the Motion-Pro tool. It does require that you get your fingers in there to use it, but it is much stronger than the "broken antenna section" tool posted before. Mike ------- And, for those that need a pilot tool before they get to the Sync kit, here are the steps to make one. I also marked mine with some reference lines for each 1/4 turn with a sharpie... 1. Purchase a 1/4" barbed hose to 1/4" pipe adapter. 2. Grind a flat on a piece of 3/16" rod, or even the back ond of an old drill bit. Insert it into the tip of the adapter and flatten the adapter on the rod with a hammer and punch (or old screwdriver). 3. Completed tool.

These people look like they are having a good time!
Wow. Quite a few new faces (or at least new in the past 6 months), and a number of faces I haven't seen in a year or more. One would be hard pressed to find a picture from 2008 that included any of the faces in that picture you took. I gave away some long handle needle nose pliers to several people. I kept one for the gauge set and I will leave it with the set. If we're including extra tools in that set, make sure they're packed appropriately. I'd hate to see those gauge faces get smacked by a screwdriver when we're carting the case around. The gauges are very well protected from outside threats, but not well protected from threats inside the case.

Well, Yea, I figured I would wrap them in some bubble wrap before placing them in the case. I have a bubble wrap bag/pouch of sorts that I think will work out nicely. Hay Jimmyt
