Hi I'm new and am seeking some help . I am switching to the darkside and have done the cage nut mod and was wondering about going further as I am a big guy at 350 and my girl is around 120 and am worried about rubbing I currently have a 205/60/16 goodyear triple tread mounted on rim but have not installed am currently waiting on bearings .  Will try others later after seeing many other posts. THIS is on a 2002 cd with leatherlike hardbags. WILL I HAVE TO DO SHIMMING OF RAILS AND ALSO I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE CAGE AROUND LIGHT HARNESS AS IT PROTRUDES OUT ALOT ANY INPUT WOULD HELP THANKS!!

 cooldude With proper air pressure you won't have any problems. I have a 205/55/16 triple tread on  my 98 for 4 years with out any concerns. Enjoy the benefits of the DARKSIDE.  crazy2 CRAZY DAGO.

I've had different 205-65-16 in there with ZERP problems. If you can get 2 credit card thickness's between the swing arm and side wall on the drive shaft side yer good to go. Start out at 40 P S I or a tad or and find YOUR sweet spot for comfort and handling. Yer gonna hafta buy yer own cursed cookie!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

I shimmed the rails on mine along with the nut-cage mod. 

Our vacation rides...

Me + Wife = 400 lbs (I won't say what the ratio is)
Saddle bags loaded to the top (10-20 lbs per)
Uni-Go trailer loaded to the top with luggage (50+ lbs tongue weight) 

No issues with nut-cage mod and shimmed rails.  Both are easy to do.  May as well get it done while you have the wheel off.   cooldude

I've done nut cages on both bikes but I don't think I even needed to do that. I wouldn't do the shims unless you had to.
