Took yesterday off work to spend some time with my buds riding!
Headed an hour west to Canmore and had lunch on the patio.

Parking on the beach!  8)

Funny thing was, it got warmer the closer we got to the mountains.
Cross country skiing and motorcycling happening on a 20C \ 68F day. Actually, very sure it was warmer.

Was perfect for riding and I'm glad I took the day off. There is nothing like spending time with good friends in the Alberta Rockies!  :cooldude:

Oh ya .... thought this was funny!!

wow,  if I had views like that I'd be taking more than a day off work.

What does no FAT biking mean?  Does it mean no riding/parking those new bikes they have out now with monster wide tires.  I've seen a few and think they look pretty cool but pricey about 300-500 per bicycle.  Not so sure I like bicycling that much.

You Canadians sure have funny signs. Looks like some great riding though.  :cooldude:

Fat bikes have huge tires on them. I assume they tear up the turf more so than a regular Mountain bike. :cooldude:

Thanks for taking the time to share the ride  :cooldude:

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

Fat bikes are mountain bikes with really wide tires .  They can be ridden in the snow.

This is the "Nordic" center in Camnore Alberta, developed for the winter Olympics back in 88'.
The ski trails are well groomed and I suppose the bikes with the big fat tires could cause some serious ruts or perhaps they worry about possible collisions with skiers. After all, it is a ski trail and bikes of any kind don't belong there.
I just thought it funny the sign was there with the "phat" gurl parked in front of it!  :D

Thats cheap for a bicycle, last bike I bought cost me $2300, if you buy any decent bicycle at all it will be over a grand. My cousin has one that he paid 8 grand for, but he is really into it and goes on all kinds of trips mountain biking. I would think the fat tire bikes would not tear up the turf as mich because the weight is spread over a wider area. I 4hink they just dont want bicycles on their cross coumtry skiing trails
