New To Me August 2013

North Houston

« on: June 03, 2016, 01:56:37 PM »

I saw an add on Craigslist wanting to buy a 2003+ Valkyrie for $1500.  When I tried to inform the buyer of their true value I got this return e-mail. Made me laugh.

I really like the shameful waste part

copied from the return e-mail from craigslist:

I do not need exposure to pure propaganda by a prejudiced Valkyrie owner interested in promoting himself and his equipment.
The state has more authority than your propaganda. The state of Texas spent good money to create and maintain the states PRESUMPTIVE  VALUE CALCULATOR
that is used in every Tax office in the state of Texas for sales tax purposes.
its a shameful waste of human minds......evil, corrupt, selfish, un -christian influences is all you got.

Good luck finding a $1500 valk.
In the past 4 years I have put over 50 thousand miles on Valkyries. The KBB value is a joke. I will be taking my current ride to Pittsburg and back this month from Houston.
The low end on purchase price is about $3500 for a high mileage unit needing work.  There are very few 2003+ in existence and they go for 10K +

Why is he so desperate to buy some "USED OVERPRICED JUNK?"  Maybe he would be happier with some other bike that is really valued at $1900.  I think he may have tried to lowball a seller and got laughed at, hence the rant.
The presumptive  value calculator was implemented because everybody transferring a title said they paid $100 for the vehicle and the state wasn't making any money on the sales tax. It's not always accurate, one time it showed a number significantly higher than what I paid for a BMW car.  I got it appraised and paid less sales tax.
Sounds like the ad poster needs to get back on his meds.

he/she is a re-seller looking for someone who is desperate for money.
