Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

« on: September 24, 2009, 05:48:37 PM »

Colorado and Wyoming are beautiful saw very little snow on the mountain tops in the Rocky Mountains. I'm in Evanston , Wyoming ( 3 ) miles from the Utah state line.Temps are in the high 70's low 80's right now. I came through this area when I was in my early 20's many things come with age and one of them is how you appreciate the beauty God gave America.Photo below Evanston, Wyoming.

You have no idea, there is so much just miles off the interstate in Wyoming.

It sounds like a tough week for you Joe.

Just curious, buddy.  How are you having to handle the weekend?  I know you are usually off every Fri.-Sun.  Are you getting overime to keep rolling, taking the 3 days off, getting extra time off later?  Enjoy the scenery, I love it out west.

Oh yes I remember the area very well...my Valkyrie went down just east of there in Rock Springs when I ran into some snow in early March a couple years ago.

If you are taking I-80 you are going to love the salt flats. very cool about 50 miles of flat Smiley It's cool to see. Just before Wendover is the turn off for the flats It's just about 5 miles off the interstate. Nevada on 80 is kind of boring but once you get to Reno you are going to wish you had your bike.

I'm on the clock 12 hours a day till I get back home.Everything over 40 hrs. is time and a half and Saturday is double time .When I get the piece of equipment back to Nashville ,Tennessee I'll then have to take it to a equipment show in Louisville,Kentucky it's got to be there on the 5th.

Agree ...Other than " The Gorge " on the Tennessee / North Carolina line that may just be the only other super-slab I'd love to ride.

Are you referring to I-26....between Ashville and Erwin? I know that stretch of Interstate is gorgeous...and curvy for interstate! Every year, when we go to the Rune rally in Erwin...we make sure we make the ride down to Ashville on I-26...then return via back roads.....

Spent the night in Rock Springs riding home from Seatle / Inzane in '06. Lady at the junky little motel said I got the last  room in town. Was kinda racing another rider and his pass. from motel to motel, we were both looking or a room. I got to the last room in town first and got it. Don't know where they went. Between highway const. workers, miners from out of town and various other workers, Rock Springs was booming! I wonder if it is still as busy as it was then, what with the " downturn " as of late??  Beautiful country.  The crosswinds on the I/S were horrible as you get closer to Cheyene, that was where the windmills were stretched out of sight!!    Be careful Joe.............

Let me know when you're going to be in Louisville, we can maybe come down and meet you for a meal.  It is only 45 miles from the house.

The Gorge is on I-40 and starts at the Tennessee line into North Carolina about 35 miles of beautiful kick the wick up sweepers.

Thanks Joe...that will be a good ride. I will definitely be there (although I may drive in the morning of the ride since it is in my backyard).
