The dates for IZXVII are about 98% set for June 25-29 (early bird night 6-24).
We are feverishly working with several hotels in several locations.
While there is no official announcement for location yet, expect somewhere in the western half of the country.

The president states 98% because although dates may be strong preferences or insisted targets they are not set in stone until a contract is signed.

98% is pretty good odds.   cooldude

Huge thanks to the staff for planning early. Also thanks for moving it around so everyone can make it and not need to take an extra couple weeks off.

I was hoping to make it this year but my son's Graduation meant I couldn't take the 10-14 days it would have taken to get to WV and back. It certainly is nice to see my hometown within a good days ride or 2 from the Serkle.  Can't wait to meet you guys and actually see another Valk/Valk rider.

Hey Jason, there should be a good contingent of western Canadian members at IZ-17 ... looking forward to having the President/Vice-President/Secretary Treasurer/Membership of the Saskatchewan chapter along as well Wink

Also, when will you be through BC this Summer?

I would like to know the dates ASAP, the location not so much.  I would like to camp in Yellowstone for a few days before or after Inzane.  Yellowstone has been on my bucket list since I bought the Valk.

In the summer of 1966 I rode out west on a H-D 883 XLH Sportser with a friend on a FLH from Milwaukee.  For several days, we camped at the Old Faithful campground which appears to no longer exist.  That two weeks was the first, and is the most memorable, motorcycle journey of my life...

I was to camp in Aug 2014 at YS. Took the new gf so last min decided to hotel it in the park. Glad I did. Rain and sleet for 2 days with only a 2 hr non rain window to see some sites. YS sucked for me but hope its better this Aug.

Last year, based on complaints from the previous year, I decided to post dates as soon as we knew them and locations that we were considering (rather than waiting until everything was set).  Last year, you said you appreciated that; this year it appears that's not good enough.  This is by far the earliest we have ever announced the dates and general area.  I kind feel like we're cursed if we do, cursed if we don't.

If you make plans based on Yellowstone for now, you will be in the ballpark; with only minor refinements needed once we know the exact location.

I don't believe my message was received as intended.   I sincerely appreciate the earlier notification, I'll try harder. Lips Sealed

LOL.  I considered several smart ass replies but none seemed to work right.  We don't have to worry about my league as I have taken myself off that field some twenty-three years ago.  I am fortunate to have the partner who has carried me through some rough road.

As to Elizabeth she is a very, very special girl.  I can only imagine that Kelly too must be pleased with the league in which he's been able to compete.  I do joke regularly with Woton and the BikerGirl.  As with all jokes there is a fragment of truth involved but it is coated with one or more layers of exaggeration or other distortion.  I will leave you to determine what part is truth and which elements are fiction.

I just got here to this post, was very pleased to read it.

I think the annual Valhalla BC - PNW Rally, which was planed for the June 23-25 weekend, is going to turn into a BIGGER Inzane 2017 Rally instead, and back into the US for another year too.

Billings this year is hosting the annual Wing Ding, was wanting to go there for the ride of the local area I missed out on during the IZ 15. Didn't know it was so close. Now the IZ 17 may only be a 2 day ride away. Makes it very doable for a week trip.

Thank you for giving out the date and approx location, it really helps out in the planning and trying to get my co-pilot to accept the ride.

Since I was working on the Valhalla Rally for that weekend, I now know I need to either change the date, or jump in and throw my hat into the ring with IZ 17.

Thanks for the assorted kudos, guys - even though most were about BikerGirl Wink

I am a pretty lucky man.  How many guys have a lady who would overcome a lifetime of fears and begin riding her own motorcycle - one that is heavier and much more powerful than our Valks - all over the country?  And, largely because I wanted to do it??

It is really great to have VRCC friends near and far with whom to share both the road and much laughter when we're together - our only regret is that it is not as often as we'd like.

OK...Let's return this thread to Inzane XVII.  Hope to see you all there! cooldude

PS: Wiggy - No Oss next year apparently, but the three of us can certainly get lost somewhere Undecided

I was suppose to go to MT, UT & CO this week but circumstances changed and we had to postpone the trip.  This will fit my schedule perfectly for after the spring semester.  Three of four weeks in the west sound great to me.  I'M IN.  Thanks to the staff for making the west the destination just for me.

Just finished reading this thread front to back. I'm so very, very excited for the next Inzane. Just very recently rode from TP's place to my home in South Idaho. Spent 2 days in Spearfish and ate at the lucky 13, road needles, and visited crazy horse and then devils tower just to remenisce and share with my brother how great the Inzane in Spearfish was. That was in June. Yellowstone park had record attendance this year and was very crowded. Still, if one gets up early in the morning the park roads are not too bad and you see more sights. I've stayed at hotels in West Yellowstone that weren't too bad price wise (I realize this is relative). There is a hotel in Cooke City at the north end of Yellowstone (Butte Hotel if I recall) that is not fancy but very reasonable. Plus, Cooke City is the gateway to highway 212, the beartooth highway. It often is not open until memorial day due to the extreme altitude but what a ride! Jackson Hole is another place we stayed. Pretty spendy all the way around. Cody Wy is not far from Yellowstone (east entrance if I recall) and is a very nice town and very reasonable hotel offerings and great restaurants.
The Idaho team is already planning on attending and are VERY excited! I already have the days scheduled off work in anticipation.
Many, many thanks to the board for their tireless efforts at putting Inzane together. You all are doing a wonderful job and have my upmost respect!

Staying 2 nights in Cooke City this yr. Neat little town.

I hv a Idaho question for you...We are heading to Glacier after YS. We will be going out the west ent and head towards Rexburg ID. From there taking 33 to 28 all the way up to Salmon ID. Is this a good road? And whats the time frame on this road from YS. Don't have to be at glacier till the following night so we may spend the night in Lolo MT if time allows.

It should take you about 2 hours to get to Rexburg from the park. Depends on the day and the time of day. Gets pretty busy around island city and the closer you get to Rexburg. Roads are (were) pretty nice last time I was over them. From Rexburg to Salmon is not a road I've been over as I don't travel that way when going to Glacier from souther Idaho so wont be much help there. Google maps says it will take you about 2 1/2 hours though. If it were me, I wouldn't hesitate one moment. Roads in that part of the country are usually pretty well maintained.

Our VRCC BC and PNW Rally has now officially moved to Post Falls ID. June 23-25, 2017.

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,88716.0.html

This is going to make a nice half way point for IZ XVII, wherever it will be around Yellow Stone.

I hope this might also make a nice pre-party for others on their way there.

Waiting on the official announcement of where Ground Zero will be, and will plan on going.

We don't have enough vacation time to get out to the Yellowstone area for InZane 17 riding the Valkyrie so we purchased a bigger truck that can easily pull our Valkyrie or Valkyrie's if Trish wants to bring her Trike.  Been looking for a nice Ford 7.3 diesel for awhile and finally able to purchase one.  Took it on a nice 2500 mile test run to Branson, MO last week and it ran great and Trish even likes it.  Never thought I'd be one of those guys to trailer a bike to a rally, but if this gets us out to that area of the country before retirement it will be well worth the ribbing.

Looking at your itinerary, we will likely be in the same city at least once.  We are looking at several places though, so your attempt at extortion is fruitless.  crazy2

This Saturday a couple of VRCC staff members will be winging their way to the Serkle and will spend 5 days checking things out.  We have several very good prospects.  cooldude
Im spending 2 weeks in the serkle. I promise not to spill the beans if I see them....for $20  Grin

Looking at your itinerary, we will likely be in the same city at least once.  We are looking at several places though, so your attempt at extortion is fruitless.  crazy2

Now I don't want to read too much into this, but have you looked at F6Gal's ride map.  The only state not filled in (in the continental 48) is Idaho.  Roll Eyes I'm not saying this will influence her decision, but it is a point to ponder.  Of course that could only mean Idaho will be included in one of the planned ride loops.  Still..................

Well, regardless of where we choose within the Serkle, I will be filling in that last state during or after the event.  Before InZane this year, I needed Maine and Idaho.  From InZane in WV we headed up to Maine and got that done.
