I installed both tires yesterday, Avon Cobra and Vredestein Sportrac 5,  and took a spin for some miles...
I have had 2 Vredestein Sportrac 3 earlier which has been a smooth, good, experience .They were more smooth and comfortable than the Goodyear and Pirelli I had before them.

This Sportrac 5 felt just as my Sportrac 3 did...so totally satisfied!
The Sportarc 3 looked a bit better though...

Life is good  cooldude

I sure like the Vredestein Sportrac 3. Great profile and sexy tread pattern. The 5 doesn't have the panache of the 3 but it looks like it retains the profile. Someday when my 3 wears out I'll probably buying their future "7".

Nothing like new shoes for your baby Relax. I am running a Sportrac 3 also, to get it to work right for me, I had to run it at 42 psi which made it wear in the middle, did you guys experience this?

I am thinking about the Yokohama Envigor when a rear is required, some seem to like them, and apparently they work well according to pictures from Mallett.

I was running the Sportrac 3 @ 40 PSI and it did accelerate the wear. I  went back to a MT after that and barely got 7k out of the rear tire. My Yokohama Avid Envigors will be in today and I am going to start them off between 36-38 PSI.

I'm running 38 psi in my new Yokohama Avid Envigor (~1600 miles so far) and it seems to work well YMMV.

Riding single I am comfortable on lower psi , but I do mot of my riding 2 up ..
We have some speed dumps here and there ,  and  hat is when  I feel this or that.. At lower psi it feel like the shoch absorber bottoms when I have like 36 psi, and for that reason I did 42 psi on my Sportrac 3 after 2 years use.
Now, on new tires I ( And my wife sitting up) we are comfortable at 38 psi.

( I am not sure it is logic that the shock absorbers bottom earlier at lower psi, but that's how it feel like. Shock absorbers are Progressive 440. )

Maybe the tire is hitting the rim on bumps???   If that happens often enough there can be a broken wheel.  I sold my spare wheel to someone that had happened to.

Just wanted to see how you are feeling about that Sportrac 5 now that you have about 6 months of wear on it.  I had been planning to go DS (Sportrac 3) when my Avon bit the dust only to find out that it  has been discontinued.  If anyone else besides Relax is running the Sportrac 5 with a few miles on it, would also be happy to hear your comments as well.  Hate to invest in a new tire without any saddle time--loved riding my buddy's Interstate with the Sportrac 3 (made me a believer in the DS).

The riding season here is shorter , it ended in october. However, the tire feels good, so no worries. Smooth, comfortable, soft and silent.  I did like the Sportrac 3 just a tiny bet better though in rainy weather. I believe what I feel is that the Sportrac 5 has a pattern paralell with the tire, while  the Sportrack 3 had a pattern on an angel to th tire.No big deal, no problem,,,just a reflection ...
