I starting around 22 years old, rode for 2 years then.  Started again around 26 years old, couple of years then too.  Then like some others in this thread, family and financial requirements stopped me from riding.  Then in 2006, my brother needed to sell his IS and I bought it quickly, before he could change his mind.  I never looked back and I'm lovin' it!

i started riding dirt bikes when i was 8 years old until i was 12, got it taken away because i was jumping anything possible with it :evil:

back in February 09 my father decided to start riding again and was buying a goldwing trike while we where at a dealer i pretty much stumbled across a 2003 valkyrie, fell in love with it so far ive rode 8800 miles, i know to most members on here thats no miles at all but this is my first on-road bike and most of the miles are since late march. won the youngest rider award at inzane 9 (25)  ;D

hey does my post even belong here since i have technically  havent been riding for a year :2funny:

and it sounds like if Mikey is at inzane 10 i may not win next year

Mikey, Blackcat, what I see here is that you are both obviously wise beyond your years! Trust me, experience isn't everything... Well there was this one time...

49 years..... got a job and bought my 1st bike when I was 9yo.  Got me to school and work.  Have had one ever since.. except for 4 years after back surgery in 1980.  Had ta heal up.   :cooldude:  All street bikes.... most were baggers...with a couple choppers thrown in..ouch....
Never had a dirt bike..... saw a bunch of ways ta hurt yerself in the dirt.. :D

blue=3 times
green=at least 4 times
When they are all 'green'.. I'll stop counting.

My sister bought a Honda 400 super sport in 1976 and I rode the piss out of it. I was 18. Now 51 and I have had a bike most of the time in between. It is funny, I have owned many different brands but have almost always had a Honda in the Stable. 400 Super Sport (bought it from sis) 1980 CB750F, 1984 Honda Shadow 1100 and my 1998 Valk. Thinking about a BMW now but will never let go of this Valk.

39. Got my first "real" motorcycle in 1970. It was a 66 Honda S90. I rolled the frame home from about a mile away, brought the rest of the parts home on my bicycle. Cleaned it up, put it all back together and got it running. Turned it into a "dirt bike", added motocross handlebars, knobbie tires, plastic fenders, etc. Pretty much always had a bike since then. Had some of Honda's fastest, (V65 Sabre, V65 Magna, Hurricane) But the Valk will most likely be my last Honda. They just don't offer much that stirs me anymore. Have no immediate plans to sell the Valk,  hell it will most likely last longer than me anyway. LOL

  I was 18 when I got my first bike. It was in '84 and I bought a '79 KZ750 twin. Traded that after a couple years for a '80 KZ1300. Guess I always had a thing for 6 cylinders. Rode that bike for several years, then got other interests. Sold it and was without a bike for about 15 years. Got married with instant family during that time, so a bike wasn't going to happen anytime soon anyway. I had started jonesin' for another. Son got married and moved out, so it was just me and the wife now. Started thinking I would like to have another bike, but wasn't really looking  when I came across my '97 Standard. Had to have it. Was love at first sight. That was 3 1/2 years ago and I have loved every minute of it.

  I don't have a choice about helmet in AL, so don't really have a dog in that hunt.
