Yesterday a Sedgwick County Sheriff's Deputy Brian Etheridge was shot and killed in an apparent ambush situation in Wichita, Ks. He left behind a wife and small child. I don't know them but, feel it is important for those of us that pray to pray for this family. He was 27 years old and been a Deputy for 18 months.

The LEO's, EMS, and Fire service personnel are our first defense when any kind of incident occurs and much like our Service personnel do not get the kind of respect that they should. They are all grossly under paid for the jobs they do, they live in fish bowls judged by everyone on everything they do, on duty or off. We gripe when they do thier jobs and gripe when they don't, yet I would hate to see our society without them.

I salute you Deputy Etheridge may you rest in Peace!

Suspect was located and died in a gun battle after he fired on other officers, justice served.
