September 9th, 2015. Kathy and I were at Brigham and Women's hospital waiting for her to go into surgery. We had no idea what to expect, but we were preparing for the worst. At 10:00am they came and brought her to pre-op. At 11:45 I was told it was time for me to leave as they were waiting to take her into surgery at any minute. The next 4.5 hours were the worst in my life. At 4:30pm I got the call from Dr. Shoji himself. "Paul, Dr. Shoji. The surgery went as well as we could have hoped. We removed three tumors and 2 liters of fluid. We were able to look around inside and found no other tumors. You should be able to see her in a half hour."
It's been one year since then, it's been 9 months since I asked and she said yes, 5 months since the last chemo, 4 weeks since the last clean CT scan (which they all have been, clean) and 36 days before I marry the love of my life.
What a year, can't wait to see what happens next.

Paul, you and Kathy have a bright future ahead of you.
The dark dismal days are behind you....
"I live for today, as I may never see tomorrow....."  you know exactly what I mean !!!
Never saying 'goodbye' as it is too final .....  see ya my friend

Like George Burns used to say,
"I look towards the future because that's where I plan to spend the rest of my life"
