Just completed making my IS into a super valk. It's been said before but the parts for the tailight conversions are as follows: 33701-MZ0-671 tail light assembly 80122-MZ0-000 rubber 32102-MZ0-000 wiring sub-assembly 32103-MZ0-000 wiring sub-assembly All the wiring was straight forward at the light housings and under the right cover using these OEM supplies. The only exception in the wiring for me was the green/yellow from the wiring assembly was connected to the bike's green/red that went to trunk lighting. The brown/white and green, the other trunk leads, were left unattached. So with the trunk on the bike, I'll have to share the green/red so I'll have brake lighting and hook up the other two leads. Next will be the radio antenna relocation but I'm not in a big hurry for this as I mostly listen to music on my mp3 or files stored on my Garmin. This winter I'll look up BigBF in AZ and have him modify my trunk rails for making trunk removal/install much easier. Eventually I'll work up some adapter plates for a rear fender rack that I have. My solo seat is an Ultimate Big Boy with a driver's backrest. I'm happy with the progress so far. I'll post pictures when the project is more complete.

Finally got a chance to get some pics. For now I'm using the OEM radio antenna and my Midland portable CB. Eventually I'll probably bury the OEM CB in the tool compartment area under the seat. I'm also considering using only one antenna for both radios. Sierra Electronics has a system that I'm considering. http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SIE-GL18%2F15ANT-SOLO

Forgive my ignorance but is "Super Valk" just the removal of the rear seat, rack, trunk, etc.?
Looks great by the way. I wouldn't mind doing it myself but I need the ability to take my wife with me from time to time to keep things peaceful on the home front.

Yes, but there is a way of doing it where it takes 10-15 minutes for a reinstall.

BigBF has posted a tutorial on how to modify the trunk supports for easy on/off. http://www.bigbf.com/bigbf_shop/mod_i-s_trunk/

No. Technically a Super Valk is one that has been modified to be readily switched from with or without the trunk. Properly done the change should take but a few minutes.

Speaking from experience, my Firestick combined CB/AM/FM antenna sucks big time for radio reception. I do not have a CB (I had my seller remove it before I bought it, for him to sell), and removed the CB/FM splitter (under right sidecover), and radio reception still sucks. Also, CB antennas may require an extra long cable for optimal CB performance, and I still have a long cord all bunched up under my saddlebag, and maybe that's a proablem for FM reception too.
I have the OE antenna on my other interstate, and radio reception on that bike is alt least 10 times better than on my supervalk with Firestick antenna and a 20 foot bunched up cable.

Salty1, Where did you get your saddlebag rails? Are those the Hondaline Unobtainiums or a recent purchase?

Sorry for being late on my response, I bought a set of knock offs on Ebay for about $200. IMO they are identical to OEM.
