Just pulled my carb bank. Cut my needles with slots for use with flathead screw driver. Set them at 1.5. put everything back in then. I'm running wide open exhaust. Put some gas in that I didn't mean to. Wrong can. Was hard to get started at first. Then was lots of white smoke. Didn't smell like oil or gas. wouldn't idle at all hardly. Shut it down for the day and had a mind sleep over. Today I went to 1.75. New intake orings  and then tried it. She still struggling. Added a 1/2 can of sea foam and then about 2 gallons of the gas I should have put in. Thinking , bad gas with water, hence whit smoke with no smell of fuel or oil. She started running better after warm up and I had to adjust the idle back , because of previous start up that had me turning it in about 3 turns. Got her running back to normal but do still get white smoke on rev.
Am I still burning off water/ bad gas ? Also when I shut it down and let it sit for 30 minutes or so, upon crank, I get big pillow of white.  But then dissipates for the most.

Could that have been two stroke mixed fuel???   Siphon it out and maybe you can drain the rest of it, by draining it thru the carb bowl drains.

First thing I thought of too. That will make a bunch of smoke for sure.

What was in that can?

I haven't used Sea Foam, but I know other fuel system cleaners can cause white smoke and an odd smell.  The most obvious cause of white smoke is coolant leaking into the combustion chamber via a head gasket leak.

Two stroke gas would have oil in it which normally wouldn't burn white. I'd do as suggested, remove as much of that gas as possible, even the later stuff since it's well mixed with the first batch by now. Drain the bowls on each carb and start with fresh fuel.

Thanks for the input all. That's my plan as soon as I have time. Drain and fresh gas. Wasn't mixed fuel, just several months old. If it was I would be smelling the oil, I would think.

My experience, water in gas will usually stop up a carb. Water doesn't want to pass through tiny jets. Sorry to say that usually water out the exhaust comes from cooling water. I have never had that with a Valkyrie. First get the old fuel out. Should be able to drain the fuel bowls into a glass and look for droplets of water.

Most exhaust have a drain hole that will drain condensation, if the drain holes rust up the exhaust can hold a lot of water and will take a while to burn out.
