Rode the Valk to work yesterday. Taught my morning classes. Then I cancelled my evening class and came home early. When my wife got off of work we loaded up in the Volvo and headed to Durham, NC (about 3 hours away or so).

Alice Cooper was playing in Durham at the Performing Arts Center.

I've never seen Alice in a venue that had seats. I've always watched him clubs. I've also never been that far from the stage. I tend to get there early and get close. But sitting at the top of the venue looking down wasn't bad. The show was still good. After all these years of watching Cooper it is still a fun ride.  Last night his show had less story than years past, but it did have four characters developed in four unrelated acts. Each of those characters was of course killed on stage: guillotine, hanging, poisoned by a nurse and some terrorists, and Iron Maiden. Good clean fun.

It was nice to look around at the variety of people in the crowd. From 9 to nearly 90. One of the women swathed in black with black leather boots up her thighs was offering everyone around her butterscotch candies...nothing says grandmother like weather's original. the crowd ranged from jeans to capes. It was just fun peopled with people that wanted to have fun.

We rolled in about 1:30 this morning. I caught a nap and am getting up and going to go to work (on the Valk again). Yes, Coop said "Schools Out" but I'm going to work anyway. I have papers to collect and grade so, as Cooper sings, "Vengeance is Mine."
