Hello,

I'm getting ready to assemble the rear drive assembly and was curious what type of sealant to use when putting the hub cover back on.

Thanks in advance for your help.

And if you have rear end jokes, of course entertain us.

Are you rebuilding your Final Drive or just installing the Final Drive and Rear Wheel?

If the latter, this will help.

I used "Ultra Black Permatex"... some others talked about Ultra Gray...

I just stopped at a local Yamaha shop and picked up a tube of I think it's called "Yamaseal" or something like that. It's also gray, when applying be careful as to not cover certain holes on the matching surfaces. The shop manual will tell you which ones.

I use Hondabond. Great stuff, and is resistant to everything. Was probably what was used originally. Get it at your local Honda dealer.
