As you have probably seen.... IZX ground zero will be Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire, MI. The dates are July 14-18, 2010 (with early bird night of some sort on the 13th). PLEASE, DO NOT call the hotel!! To get the rates where we needed them, we had to do some fancy footwork. We'll be doing things a bit differently this year... basically, the VRCC will be making the reservations and turning them over to the hotel when complete. It's a little bit risky this way, but if we work together, I'm confident we can make it work. Details will be forthcoming as soon as we can get them all worked out. More than ever, we're really counting on your support and patience. Thanks in advance! It's going to be an awesome event!!!!!!!

OK - now that Connie has "spilled the beans" - we want to welcome you to the grand state of Michigan. Our team here has already been brainstoming (and if you know the power of OUR brains - that hurts quite a bit), and we are fully committed to make IZX one of the most outstanding events that you have EVER been to. The riding and scenery in this area is simply gorgeous, there are some day rides and adventures that will blow your socks off (so keep yer boots ON).
Watch these boards often, so as F6Gal starts tossing out information, start to jump on it. But you DO HAVE the dates already, get these on your calendars, schedule your work plans for the time off. And I would highly suggest that you plan for the FULL 4 days (Weds thru Sunday morn) of staying at Shanty Creek - because we WILL HAVE absolutely great things planned for EVERY DAY. We want all of you to go home simply shaking your head, saying to each other "man, now THAT we one fantastic week we just had, can't wait till next year!"
Gary House aka Stitch .................. just part of the team here

As an 'Honorary Member' of the Michigan's Misguided, all I can say is everything you are hearing is correct . The roads are great, the scenery is second to none, and the folks in the MI chapter are some of the best you will meet . I've probably put on more miles in Michigan, than I have in my home state of Wisconsin. Just something about the 'Up North' feel and beauty. Here are a few pictures, taken over the past couple of years, from my journeys with the Misguided… Sign up as soon as ya can… You will not be disappointed! Black Dog

Patrick and I are so looking for InZane next summer. The part of Michigan where InZane will be held is our favorite part of the state. Anytime over the years if we had a few days or opportinuty to go anyhwere, this is typically where we would go. We never tire of the area. Also, being in our back yard is bonus for us.
I already have the time on my calendar at work and am so exicted for the event. I think this will be one of the best yet; not that any InZane we've been to hasn't been awesome. 280 days until 7/14, not that I'm counting or anything.
Yee Haw!

What I am getting from the article is that if you are going to break the law and get caught you are going to pay the price. I have no doubt that this is happening all over the country. Anyway, we are going to be well over 200 miles away from the Detroit area. should not really effect us at all.

Detriot? Parts of the "city" looks, smells, and feels like bombed out Lebanon. . . . You have to see it to believe it. There's some areas - like Cass Corridor - that the police don't even routinely go in. And, if you take a wrong turn down the wrong area, you'll get jacked. . . or worse.
I had an instructor at the MSP Centrral Complex once for some LEIN update stuff and he told a story about being pulled over for "running a red" in Detriot. The stop & ticket were bogus and the Detriot PD played good cop/bad cop. He never showed his MSP ID and let the performance take it's course. The "good cop" said; "Go to court and fight the ticket man." It turned out to be an overtime scam. . . . . That was over 10 years ago. I'm thinking nothings changed, but please don't anyone judge Michigan by our "Escape of New York" area. We're just missing the wall & fence.
I'm not rying to start a fight with anyone from the area. Oakland and Wayne Counties both have some great people and wondeful areas, but Detriot is a pit! It is what it is.

Good thing INZANE is not close. Seems to me there are many ways around that place, you do not even have to go through it if you do not want to.

InZane is in the far NW portion of the lower part of Michigan... My advice, if yer headed this way from the west, or south west, would be to go through Wisconsin, and go across the UP of Michigan. That ride alone, is worth a vacation, all by itself! Black Dog

Go this way! Yep, that's what I'm talkin' about... Just went over the Big Mac this past Friday evening, on the way to meet the Michigan's Misguided, for the Fall Color Tour... Weather was just a tad different than in your picture 40+ mph cross winds, and pouring rain... Tried to stay off the metal grid part, and over to the right concrete part... That bridge seemed like it was only 3' wide at the top Pucker Factor, off the charts Black Dog
