Hey Chromie, be careful, we have snow over here this morning that is sticking to the ground.    Slicker than snoop on the road in spots, especially bridges and etc.

Left Saturday morning and baby it was cold! I think the temp when I left was just above freezing and I don't think it got to 40 until Lafayette, IN. By the time I got around Indy it was actually comfortable. I arrived in Dayton around 5:30pm local and have spent a great weekend with my Buddy and his family. And they all wanted to know about the bike, where I'm headed, how fast will the bike go, how fast have I ridden it ... and all the usual questions. The only one I couldn't answer ... why Honda stopped making the Valkyrie.

Sunday was a blast. My Buddy and I went to the Dayton Motorcycle Club Hill Climb at The Devils Staircase and it was fantastic! Seems that this is the last event of the hill climb season and a lot of the top riders are there for the points. I will post some pics when I get a chance. My buddy was stunned that there were all these bikers and no problems. Of course we were only there for about 2 hours. But this was the first time I ever saw people walking around with gallon milk jugs full of beer. One guy I saw even made one of those foam wraps, cozi, to keep his cold.

I am getting ready to hit the road and I am hoping for Bluefield, WV tonight. Will see how things go with the weather and me.

RJ, all that white fluffy stuff can stay west of the Mississippi for another week or so.

Joe and Norman I will keep you posted.

All is moving along very well. Left about 9:00am and this time I was wearing all the right equipment from the get go which made for a much more enjoyable ride ... it was still cold but I stayed reasonably warm. My hands & feet always get cold but that was about it.  Was originally thinking of riding the Ohio River Valley be opted for US-35, I-64 and I-77 ... not as senic as I know the valley would have been but still very scenic ... hey I'm from Chicago, we see a clump of trees and we think we are in the wilderness.  Just wish that the sun was out .... the colors are fantastic but with being cloudy they seem to be missing some pazazz ... still I did manage to take a picture or 2. I'm now checked into the Knights Inn motel in Bluefield, WV. With luck .... Burlington, NC Tuesday.

Day started a little on the wet side and they are calling for a fair amount of rain on Wed  pretty much accross NC (Mark ... try throwing some dirt on Boomer ... you can clean it up next week). I made a small modification to my travel plans and instead of Burlington, NC I decided  that I would end the day in Boone, NC. Along the way I stopped in Mt. Airy, NC and checked out the Mayberry stuff ... very interesting ... took a few pictures and then back on the road. Doubled back on US-52 and jumped on the Blue Ridge Parkway ... the colors & views were fantastic! There wasn't much traffic so I was able to move along with very few rubber neckers in front of me. But I saw I caution sign that caught me off guard ... it is of a bike going over the edge, riders hands up in the air and screaming. I know, I should have doubled back to take a picture but .... it was just such a nice day on the BRP.

I'm getting reay to go do some laundry and will check back later.

Ron, I will call later this evening ... your home number correct.

Such a positive attitude ....Buzz Killer  Sad

30 % chance of shattered showers is by no means a total washout thats down from 70 % that was on the forecast for Robbinsville last week....I'm hoping for the best...Dry Roads  cooldude

Well today was a day of rest due to all the rain. Ron came by with his truck and showed me around this part of North Carolina and it was fantastic! The roads, the colors and I spent the day with a VRCC brother! cooldude

Tomorrow, rain or shine, we are on our way to Clinton, TN., and if the weather cooperates some sight seeing.

Ron, see you tomorrow morning.
