I'm trying to fix my fairing, a bunch of little problems.

I loosened the 4 bolts for the fairing stay, tried to pivot the whole fairing forward, and it would only move a very little bit. I ended up removing the stay from the fairing instead.

I've read where others have said it's easier to tip the fairing forward by this method, than trying to reach in for the head light bulbs. But I figure there should be more movement.

How far should it move?

Why isn't mine moving as far? Seems to be hitting the lower portion of the lower bracket. Bent lower bracket maybe?

I never pivioted mine, I always just take it off. I wish it would pivot as I have added stuff under mine and it will fit back but everything has to be lined up perfect. I usually have trouble with the speaker cover bolts and dont look forward to removing them. Plastic is getting kinda brittle also. I would be afraid to take mine to a mechanic they would probably break plenty!

I never have pivoted mine.  Always completely remove.

The screws I remove are the two on top under the chrome piece in front of the windshield and inside there is a bolt on each side that is a part of the turn signal mounts.

I think removing the fairing is far easier than removing the gas tank.
