I've had a set of TBR 6/6 pipes for several years. I have em in storage right now, but I put them on every year or so just to change things up a little.

I like the sound, but I've never been crazy about the turnouts. I'm throwing around the idea of cutting off the turnouts. Leaving the pipes about (more or less), 2"-3" shorter with slashcuts. I know "drag pipes" already cost you a few HP. My question is, will loosing a couple inches change the sound very much? They're already freakin loud.   Cheesy

What say ye?

Do NOT believe they will become quieter. Yer also putting the exhaust exits closer to yer ears. Part-well maybe half of my hearing loss is due to race engines and open exhaust. Also worked around recip engines and jets in the Navy. Also depends on Who's local constabulary you piss off in the process.  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

Please don't mangle those pipes.  TBR 6X6 are no longer made and have become quite rare.

If you don't like the turn outs buy a set of Cobras.

Chopping them will make them a little louder in places.  The turnouts tend to slow down the exhaust just a bit but more importantly tends to separate the sounds of the two sides.

I'll probably just keep em in storage for now. I'd possibly consider trading for a set of Cobra's.
Thanks for the replies!
