First...I know if I remove the trunk permanently then its not a SuperValk anymore. Having said that, I'm a solo rider, LOVE my I/S, but not really a fan nor do I need the trunk...so I'll probably take it off permanently. If I want to get a passenger backrest and pad (for the times that I'm more social) are there any mods that I need to make to be able to take it on/off...much like I do the trunk now?
Thanks,
Markus

Someone recently posted the same question.
Replace the IS fender rails with ones from a std/tourer, and get the hardware to mount a back rest. Or nothing.
The IS seat is one piece. Get a std/tourer set, and remove the passenger seat, and ride.

Not sure. I didn't ride last year due to surgeries, but I've been out every day above 55 degrees this year. I'm up in Fox Lake

Thanks. I've got a set up Ultimates (3 piece) for the I/S. I'll start looking for the rails.

I'll even trade you your interstate trunk and rails for my standard rails, luggage rack, sissy bar, and solo bar Delivery and installation included.

Super Valk with Cobra sissy bar for 1500 Intruder installed on trunk mount studs. When pillion and sissy bar are removed, I just put the chrome acorn nuts and washers back on the studs. Works for me! What sort of modifications are/were required to make these fit? Compare the width of the lower section of the Cobra sissy bar to an OEM Honda bar - are the dimensions the same? In other words: Can I find a set of Cobra side plates and use my stock Tourer sissy bar/backrest pad/rack on them?

Marcus , I am in a Cary suburb. (that means high taxes) . You are about 20 minutes from me. Wooffred is near by and sets up a lot of rides. I also have a place in Island Lake.

Relax: Wow! That is beyond words.
Totally shames the Fury, but that's a low bar. Totally shames any boomer/chopper I've ever seen.

Works for me! Sorry I am late to the party. If I understand you correctly you were able to use Cobra's Intruder sissy bar set up with your interstate trunk mount. Is this right? It bolts right up with no modification needed? **** looking closer it appears you needed to drill new rear bolt holes. Am I seeing that correctly?
