this was posted on facebook motorcycle page yesterday. I do not know if true or not.

"After many years absence, it appears that Walmart has revived its Super Tech line of oil filters. Cross reference number for the GL1500 and GL1800 is ST6607 @ $2.84
each."

Isn't Super Tech a "Walmart " brand name ?  I think the filter line is back . I don't know if its from the same supplier (quality).

Dang, Indiana is a little behind ? They quit carrying them here 4 or 5 years back. Started up again 6 months ago. I don't know if they are made the same as before though.

Wonder how that number would cross reference to the GL1200 with the Randakk oil filter mod. That's a device that screws on in place of the OEM style bolt through the filter, making it possible to use an automotive filter.

Its been about 3 yr. hiatus here in my neck of the woods. I switched to Bosch #3323 @ $5  everyday @ Menards. The Supertech  old line were made by Champion which makes about 80% of the oil filters made.

I see prices for the OEM Honda filters all over the place, depending on how big a lot of them you buy.

Last time I did, they were around $7 each and I think I've got 3 years worth left sitting in storage.

Other than cost savings, what's a Supertech gonna buy someone?

I have seen some Supertech filters at Walmart lately. Seemed to be white instead of blac kand they did not have the Supertech ST7317 that I was using. Good filters that are believe are made by Champion? Still watching.

Bingo.  One may be certain that Walmart applies constant pressure on its suppliers to reduce cost. They are legendary for it. If they eliminated a house brand then resurrected it, it's because they found a cheaper provider. I would not depend on a precious products reputation in such a situation.

I used the ST3593A, I liked having the extra volume of filter media, it is not listed now either.

At Walmart now. This store has the st6607. Wow it is short. The st9688 for a Honda Pilot auto is about an inch longer. I haven't used a ST filter, I get Honda filters from local Honda auto dealer.
May be from same factory???  Who can know these things?

EDIT: don't have st3593A, but do have a fram 3593A for $9

this is what I use, oversized PureOne PL14459. larger dia, same length as the original OEM.

when the '01 GL1800 came out, the '97 valkyrie oem filter was shortened to clear the lower fairing.

Anything wrong with the OEM, or is it a cost issue?  I change my oil once a year at around 8,000 miles.  Use Rotella Synthetic.  Issues with this???

Found a vid of a guy who cut open one of the current generation Super Tech filters and it looks to be a decent unit.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uz04UVtNVEY

Some folks over at Bobistheoilguy posted a screen shot of a Wix online catalog that seems to show the new filters are made by Wix.

Since Walmart is a lot closer than my dealer I'll probably try one on the next oil change.

I thought the PureOne where no longer available? If they are, I need to look for them again. I liked them on my Valk, the larger size.

I find it funny about the color changes.
I use the Purolator Pure One PL14610, it's about 3 ½” Long. The two I just purchased are Red.
They also had two Purolator L14610 in their clearance area for a dollar each. I bought both them. They are white.
