Evan, I'm sorry to report I will not be able to attend your ride.

I'm disappointed because it was a great gathering last year and I thoroughly enjoyed the Portuguese  chicken restaurant.

Anyone on the fence about going, should go.

I have the following in for the Saturday ride  Don't know who is staying for Sunday ride yet so the route is still undecided (I have 2 good ones plotted out and it could include BBQ for lunch.

Jim from PA
3fan4life from Va
NewValker from Ma
Baldo from Ma
HarryC and friend from NY
G-Man from NY
Oss from NY

Joining us on the road will be
NJF6Cowboy from NJ
and possibly Bagelboy from NY and Hotrodwing from PA

I'm still waiting to hear from Skyhawk in Ulster County and a few others including xman.  Wild6 hope your healing from the accident continues, we will miss you. Woton and Bikergirl maybe next year !

If you are still on the fence and live along the route please PM me with your phone number and maybe we can meet along the way
That includes bagelboy and hotrodwing !

The motel released the bloc Friday so the rate won't be good if you havent booked yet

Oss, Sorry for the late decision. It's now looking good for me making the Saturday ride. I'm thinking of taking 55 from the Delaware river and meet the group at 55 and the beginning of Claryville  Rd.

55 north from the Delaware water gap was my planned route last year  to Claryville Rd but lunch took forever

Worked out for you as you live so close   Wink

Will text you when we leave my house in the morning  Its about 80 miles to the beginning of Claryville so that will probably be close to 1030 -11am or so depending on how long we stop at the top of Shawangunk ridge  The covered bridge is left on Hunter Rd which is just at the beginning mile of Claryville by the way

Looking forward to riding again with you

Now lets hope for dry weather and lots of fall colors

So, looking like an early bird dinner for about 7 or 8 of us, going by who will be attending Saturday's ride.  Probably a couple less but I'd rather shoot to have too much than too little.  OSS said something like the BBQ lunch is not on Saturday so I now have more choices to choose from.

Don't worry, I know there will be something for everybody.

Kosher style for Evan (won't mix pork with dairy, lobster on a separate plate) and gluten free for his bride if she attends.
Any other dietary concerns, please let me know asap.

See yous soon!!!

Myself and any friends who might attend will be breaking off as we pass Dutchess County on the way home, but I do appreciate the invitation. Thank-you.

Gary,
Just want to make sure we are all on the same page..... Your dinner is on Friday night, correct? I'm taking  from Harry's comment that he's thinking it's on Saturday.
Can you send out your address regardless? PM is fine if you don't want to display here. I will be there.

earlier in the thread Gman posted it was on Friday but I dont know if he remembers that now

I am good with him doing either day but we probably wont get back to Ossining until at least 5pm and there will be an ice cream stop (because ice cream is good for you after a long ride)  after the Croton Dam stop.  It gets dark by 7pm now

Gary PM'd me that he is doing Friday night

I am going to cut out of court by lunch and will be home by 2pm so if anyone has made it to the area
(Craig, Mark, Bob, Jim ) I'd be real happy to lead a history-twisty ride until  dinnertime

It will be a great ride even if less than 80 miles in total

AND Saturday weather looks outstanding

Please PM me your cell numbers and remember full tank empty bladder on Sat morning

Oss,

A friend of mine is riding up with me.

We will be leaving after work Thurs and riding to PA.

Fri morning we're headed to Albany to tour a Destroyer Escort.

I don't know the exact time that we'll be leaving Albany.

I'll call you just before we do and you can direct me as to where I need to go.

Alcohol will definitely be served.  Beer in the fridge and liquor at the bar.

The Mrs. is working that night and she sends her regrets.  She'll be gone by 6:30ish till Sat morning so she'll be sleeping while we're riding on Sat but will join us for dinner on Sat. and maybe for the ride on Sun.

Looks like 11 bikes for the Saturday ride thru the Catskill Mountains !

Thinking that the Sunday ride will take us again thru 7 lakes and 106 to Hawks Nest Delaware Water Gap
which will be good head start for the folks that have to ride south that day whether to Philly or Virginia

Friday afternoon will be cliff road-perkins and some local hairpins

Just made the reservation at the Portugese Restaurant   Told him 8 people Sat at 730pm but I can make it more depending on who is around.

We had dinner there tonite I had the roast chicken over the fire pit and Bonnie had grilled Calamari (huge portion) with the homemade potato chips and veg. dinner total $36 with tax.  Cant touch that anywhere around here and food is terrific, right Meathead?

If you leave now you can still make the Saturday ride.

The owner rides a Harley he keeps in Florida but we like him anyway  2funny

Jim got here around 2pm and shortly afterward we got a message from Baldo and NewValk that they were leaving BigW's BBQ.

Directions to ice cream place near Katonah NY were given and I took Jim down Chappaqua Rd switchbacks, over the Catskill Aqueduct tunnel area and up Hardscrabble Rd to Seven Bridges and then 100 north. Timing is everything as the two new englanders arrived moments after us.

After refueling with the ice cream we headed north on 100 to 6/52 and picked up 301 at the eastern end enjoying a spirited ride all the way to Fahnstock State Park and then Cold Spring where we enjoyed the view by the Parrot cannon, that was first used at Bull Run

returning to Ossining around 5 or so the visitors went back to the motel but first I got a message from 3fan who had a road hazard take out his rear tire. Fortunately he was not hurt and got a tow and a new Metzler and arrived at the motel pretty much as I was driving to Gman's for dinner.  I turned around and picked up Mark and Larry and we all of us enjoyed the feast Gary had prepared for us and spend a few hours telling stories.

Gman even got a chocolate mousse cake to mark the event

Today looks like another superb day and we will be leaving in an hour for the Catskill Mountain roads once HarryC and the other riders arrive around 8. AOB at 830.  Figure us to be at Claryville and the covered bridge off of Hunter Rd around 1030-11am as its about 90 miles from here.

Stan   Xman Bagelboy please text me at 914 522 0083 as if I dont get a text we arent waiting around.  I will text back from the top of the Shawangunk range overlook (mile 63)  The route has been posted so anyone can join or leave at any point.
