Hi everyone. New member from Minnesota here and my first post. I just bought 99' floor 1500 with 23,000 mikes on it about a month ago. Love the bike and zero complaints about anything about it. Very impressed with it. My last bike was an 04' Rune so I have something to compare with it. I like the Valkyrie much better. This has probably been beat to death but I'm looking for a general consensus for a quick disconnect windshield for it. The bike came with Baker air wings on it si that may help with buffeting somewhat. I had a Switchblade 2-up on the Rune with no lowers so there was the bad air behind it. With all the shared experience by members on this board I'm sure can find some thing that works. I only know of two quick release shields out there but there's probably more I've never heard about. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Welcome, I believe you're going to love your Valkyrie. My experience with screens is limited. I have the OEM screens and a SwitchBlade. The OEM is a great screen and the Switchblade is a quick disconnect that is ok, as you know. The OEM Tourer screen is relatively easy to remove, just 4 bolts. http://www.jpcycles.com/product/zz75493?utm_term=%5B339823658360%3A*%2520%2F%2520product%2520type%2520%3D%2520%22vehicles%2520%26%2520parts%22%2520%2F%2520product%2520type%2520%3D%2520%22land%2520vehicles%22%2520%2F%2520product%2520type%2520&siteid=NB_G_PLA&product_id=ZZ75493&adpos=1o9&creative=42616828930&device=m&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1v6Hvv3f1QIVmbjACh0uwweiEAQYCSABEgK06_D_BwE

I've only had a Memphis Shades on mine. 4 Allen heads are it. I'm sure they are not near as good as stock, but with mine slightly modified to tilt back a little, I like it.

Mine came with an extra-tall Clearview shield on the stock mounts and a Goldwing vent. I replaced it with a Clearview shield that I can see over, and had it cut for the vent. It has a slight recurve, which seems to reduce buffeting, and opening the vent reduces it a bit more. As said above, just four bolts to left it off the mounts; I replaced the bolts with Allen head ones, making it that much easier. It takes a couple minutes longer than the quick disconnect type, but not much, and, of course, you must have the wrench handy.

I had a Memphis Shades on mine when I bought it. I cut it down a little, then made a couple brackets to rooster the bottom out almost an inch. Really liked it that way. Easy on/off. Bought another high mi. Tourer and swapped the oem for the MS before I sold it. The MS out performed.

I enlarged the top slots back to where it comes about a half inch from the instruments.

You wouldn't believe how it cut the drag on the bike. A note on the oem. When looking down in slow speed parking situations on grass or pavement, the view is very distorted. Not so with the M/S.

Thanks Signart. Memphis 2-up is probably what I'll go with and if I need to cut it down a little that's pretty simple. I like the black one but I can't seem to find any pics for their solar color.

Ditto on the Memphis Shades batwing. Be sure to get one of their recurved windshields for the batwing. Properly sized it will direct the airstream over your helmet. Works great.

You'll want to locate an original OEM setup and add a clear view shield. They get scratched eventually,I like how the clear view lights up at night along the edges...lol
