Getting to be the end of the riding season here in Western NY. This is the time of year to switch from regular 87 Octane to 91 Octane non- Ethanol. In New York state any Ethanol content must be marked on the pump.  If the Bike has to be put away unexpectedly I just top off the tank from the gas can in the garage which is 91 Octane non- Ethanol and already treated. Run all my lawn equipment on this the last five years and they run and start very well.
Managed to put on a few miles the last couple of days, mostly two lane.
Rode 190.4 Miles b/4 fueling and added 3.876 Gallons + 49.27 Mpg

How much gas do you think might be left in the hose and plumbing from the previous fueler that might have used 87 octane?      Or, are they different pumps?

I am fortunate to be able to ride almost year round if it's not raining too much. However, my mechanics advises me that a fuel stabilizer is a good idea for any engine in layup. Of Course a battery tender helps to AND lifting the bike off the tires and letting it rest on a support.

I think i had 1.1 gal when i put in the 91 octane non ethanol. Had 230 Miles on odometer when i filled up.

That didn't address my question tho.   Was  that a multi grade pump or a single 91 Octane Non Ethanol pump?     If a multi grade pump, with ethanol, I assume there may have been a gallon or two of fuel in the plumbing of that pump.

At quicktrip, the non ethanol pumps have their own handle and are usually red coded. I don't usually get my gas anywhere else unless I'm travelling, but I seem to recall that was the same at a florida chevron station I used. YMMV.

Paid $ 3.199 in New York. .65 tax on every gallon between Federal State and county tax. Usually third highest in the nation after Hawaii and Connecticut.

Bottom line, and if can, never use gasoline with ethanol. I NEVER run that crap in any of my bikes without some kind of fuel/ethanol conditioner. Certainly without question do not store your bike with that stuff!  It's horrible.
