I finally got around to installing my center stand I've had for awhile.  I had bought off ebay for 25.  and ordered the hardware for 30 something from the dealer.  I didn't order the exhaust shield.
I installed it per instructions.  I then tweaked the kick part so that it does not touch the exhaust shield.
As you can see, it goes up all the way and doesn't touch the shiny bits

Firefight100,

How did you "tweak" the "kick part"?  Heat?  Lots of muscle?

How does it seem to work for you?

Thanks for posting the photos!

After I had the stand mounted to the bike, with the bike on the side stand and the center stand up.  I placed a block of steel under the center stand where the kicker is welded to the stand.  Then I nudged the kick part with a 5lb hammer a couple times till it no longer hit the chrome cover.

5 pound sledge -> that's a "tweak"!  Nice job!

Looks good.   cooldude cooldude Another member her cut the shield so it could fit closer.  With the feet sticking down a little, watch out that they don't hit speed bumps.

The stand is up as far as it could possibly go.
