I love the sound of the cobras ( a personal thing) but had them on years ago and did not like the appearance when on the tour model. To short leaving what looks like something missing underneath, namely an exhaust. At Inzane 2016 Morgantown I saw a guy with cobras extended just slightly beyond the bag rails. Sounded awesome and looked great to boot! Anyone have ideas or know the guy with the pipes? Any ideas or plans would be helpful.

My cobra's go 3.5 inches past my rear tire. Not sure with tourer model. Mines a standard. But I had large soft bags on it and they cleared.
Seems you could cut the slash out about 4 inches back and attach a chrome pipe same size, then put tip back on extension. Keeping the cuts under the bags to not be noticed enough.

Any difference besides length TBR vs. cobras?   I was thinking my 98 valk I bought has cobras, but might be TBRs, not sure?  I know my exhaust does not go past or even close to being flush to the back of the hard side bags.

My neighbors am sure are not going to enjoy me for awhile anyways, they just be glad only 4 more weeks of riding in WI before putting up that LOUD bike...   Evil

My HD fanatic neighbor who had an obnoxiously loud HD prior exhaust just glared over at me taking off this afternoon wondering what the F is he on?  After I got past his house,  I let it RIP!!!    cooldude Wink   If I granny shift it though and keep rpms LOW,  it is not bad at all.

Thank you for the replies. Cobra is longer than TBR and does not have the turnouts. I have thought of welding the extension pieces in and that is what I remembered about the one I saw. I will find a welder locally and discuss it with him. Know it won't be cheap, but the end result should be what I am looking for. Keep sending your thoughts

Why not swap the TBRs for a set of Cobras?

Someone building a bobber might want the shorter pipes.
