Working on my 2018 trip and it brings me thru KS on the way home. SW to NE. I see there are 2 Wizard of Oz museums. Which one is better? Im coming thru Liberal anyway and was gonna stop but wondering if the other is worth a stop. Also is Abilene worth the stop? I like Wild Bill and don't see much to see about him there. Also if there is anything else neat to see let me know! Taking 36 west on the way out so will stop at all the little stuff.

I've never been to the place in Liberal but I can say that if you have any interest in Oz then yes, the Oz Museum in Wamego is worth the stop.
I confess that I am certainly biased (I live here) but the museum AND the actual yellow brick road across the street are fun to see.
So, since you're going through Liberal anyway, sure.. check it out, but if Wamego can be on your way I think you'll like it.

Abilene:
Wild Bill was a marshall there for a bit but the town just doesn't seem to want to play that up like they could.
The Dwight D. Eisenhower Library & Museum on the south side of town is some cool history, though.

Other neat stuff:
Twisted Oz Motorcycle Museum in Augusta (just east of Wichita), or the Kansas Motorcycle Museum in Marquette if you're headed more that way
If you're into auto racing at all (and if you're up near Abilene anyway) check out the Kansas Auto Racing Museum right down the road in Chapman. They got the 1st NASCAR and NHRA trophies on display since the first big events for both were won by Kansans.
